MONSTA X 'BEAUTIFUL LIAR' RECORDING - REACTION!

Kihyun's adlibs in Beautiful Liar is a major reason why I love that song as much as I do. They are perfection. I find that when they record their own songs they are more lively, maybe being they give each other room to be goofy and playful. This may have been like a get-in and get-out sort of recording because it was handled by a different producer. Just maybe! Everyone seems to have their own interpretations of why they weren't as peppy as usual it seems. Minhyuk and Kihyun are usually pretty hard of themselves though, or rather, perfectionists.

I think they are also approaching this recording with heavy scrutiny cus this is likely their final comeback before majority of the team head into the military. I don’t know if the dates for Minhyuk’s enlistment had been finalized by the time this recording took place, but he was definitely aware and knew his enlistment was coming soon. Same goes for Kihyun and Hyungwon (since Kihyun is only couple weeks younger than Minhyuk and Hyungwon a few months younger). But also like, they are just that meticulous with their art. They are veterans in the industry, and know what’s their sound and voice is as a team. And they just want to make sure they hit their marks and goals on the nose.

Kihyun imagining Hyungwon’s part before Hyungwon has even recorded to harmonize with him is just kinda mind blowing to me. The skill and they just know each other that well. As others said they are soooo meticulous and Kihyun and Minhyuk are maybe not more perfectionistic necessarily than the others but I would say are the most vocal at least about it. I might be misremembering but I think Kihyun once said he’s rarely 100% satisfied with how he did. And Minhyuk tends to be veeery hard on himself. Jooheon said he can tell how the recording is going to go with Minhyuk just based on his greeting too haha. Thank you! ❤ These are so fun!

I love to watch these recording sessions because it shows how good they are. With other groups you sometimes get the feeling that they record everything a million times until they have ONE good take, but with them it's more like they're choosing between great and f*cking immaculate. the hat thing is just a running gag because changkyun tends to wear that exact LA hat during their song recordings HAHA 💔 and tinky winky is of course after the purple teletubby, just cause he likes purple and wears it often,, so cute TT also i agree! ive watched their other recording behinds and while theyre really just normally that meticulous and particular about their lines (kihyun and minhyuk especially, although hyungwon has his moments) beautiful liar is probably THE most particular about their parts the members have been for sure. i definitely think it comes from a perspective of the more they like a song, the picker they are with their parts bc they form more specific expectations for themselves (i think it was particularly clear with minhyuk in how his expectations clashed with what he ended up recording) its all super interesting!! but i really do love seeing especially minhyuk in the studio, because he tends to be the strictest and hardest on himself, which also means he tends to push himself the furthest but he also keeps reasonable boundaries for himself. minhyuk in my opinion probably has a very fine tuned sense of musicality out of the boys, so he holds himself to a higher standard (while for instance kihyun definitely has a higher and more fine tuned sense of his own voice, he knows his way around his voice VERY well which is why i think he tends to be stingy and particular about his lines) i love these videos because it really shows their distinct musical character!!!

Jooheon's rap verse is my favorite part of this video. He wrecked me (again) lol. I have some random facts from beautiful liar era just because. Shownu took over minhyuks vocals while he enlisted and I think he did a great job. Kihyuns favorite song from this album is lone ranger. (Ironically that's my favorite song too and that's before i found that out lol) Hyungwon's first time riding a horse was for the music video. Jooheon's favorite part of the beautiful liar choreography is hyungwons part (at the beginning) i.m made memes of all of the members. Minhyuk said he wanted to dye his hair an ashy color but was scared that his hair color would clash with the outfits so he just decided for black hair

watching the recording behinds and reading all the comments on it, I'm once again happy that we are getting this type of content pretty much on regular basis with last comebacks it's a blessing ✨ xD very interesting to see behind the screens of how it all goes , at least hlthe part of it

I think they found the rhythm and pronunciation difficult. I think they all liked the song so much that they wanted to sound really good. Every member has their own unique pronunciation quirks. Kiki with his cute lisp, Jooheon with his energetic voice, I.M with his ever changing English accent haha, Hyungwon with his own satouri accent, and Minhyuk which complains of his own pronunciation too a lot in this episode. They all killed it tho haha. Also like Minhyuk said the person in the recording booth has a harder time catching if a take is good or not. (of course there are the exceptions since they are all so talented). They are such perfectionists. I miss them so much I wan it to be 2025 already to have them all back. Minhyuk looked so handsome in this bts I come back regularly to watch it again.

I say this with all the love in the world, this song wouldn't be good as it is if it wasn't sung by Monsta X. (I actually think this about most of their songs) The rap parts elevated the song and the different emotions each member bring as they deliver each line gives the song so much dynamic. Hehe. They said so themselves in some of their interviews, when they were listening to the vocal parts of the song they were kind of unsure about it, but once the rap parts were added, it became a Monsta X song.

I was about to say what i think but the comments are so smart 🤣so..yeah i'll say that i agree with them specially the one that comment this song having a different producer and that can make thing so different also ours boys are perfectionist. I know Kiki is but Min always sorprises me how detail and hard with himself could be AND we are less than a month for Min come back! Minbebe land is crazy now☺ Thank you!

I don't think it's because they hate the song. imo, it's just the vocals part is too experimental. It's nice to try new things but Monsta X has been around long enough to have their own style so it would be harder. The title songs for 3 album before this song was produced by Joohoney which know better about the member style and know their limit well. In comparison, Beautiful Liar producer wasn't the producer that usually work with Monsta X so he kinda lack the detail. Plus all the member being equally perfectionist isn't really helping with the mood of the recording session lol

@@jessicaglass I mean the producer as in composer. If I'm not mistaken the producer was Ryan Juhn? It wasn't the usual team that used to produced MX so I don't quite remember. Yes, it's Sam on the booth. I think Sam only directing the album recording

@@mbbzone ohhhh that makes so much sense. I looked it up and you are right about who produced the song. For some reason my brain couldn’t separate producing the song vs the person in the booth. I may of gotten it mixed up because I’m used to having either hyungwon or jooheon so that part. And sometimes changkyun. And then I hear Sam there a lot. So I got confused lol thank you for explaining that for me.
