handsome squidward I watched it and in my opinion Exo's cover is really similar to the original I mean really similar and that surprised me a lot. It's more similar than Monsta x's but Monsta x's cover is kinda sound more modern(Idk which word I should use, sorry) than classic, as TVXQ! and Exo's cover are. I mean, the way Monsta x's members pronounce english words fits the song better than the rest for me. ^^

Call me old fashioned but I still prefer Shownu. His skin is like covered with honey, his eyes are enchanting and his body... the man is simply gorgeous. Plus, that boy can MOVE. Everything he does seems so effortless... Wonho is just too much for me --- too pale, too short (for my standards tho) and tries to be overtly sexy. It all feels forced to me... Actually monsta x beside track all are a really good song. Maybe you can listening their music on spotify for whole album. Seriously when you start following monsta x there's no reason for go back. 주문 커버 다 봤는데 여기가 제일 정석적으로 가장 정확하게 잘 살려 커버한듯 특히 기현 노래하는거, 고음 올리는거 세상 깨끗하고 시원하게 깔끔하고 여긴 보컬들이 다들 음색도 좋고 잘해서 화음도 좋고 셔누로 주축되는 춤도 다들 깔끔하게 재현 그래서 보기가 제일 편함 신인이 커버할 때 이렇게 오버 안되고 딱 정석적으로 제대로 잘하기 어려울텐데 신인때같지가 않음 ㅋㅋ 신인이나 데뷔 얼마 안된 돌들 명곡 커버할 때 보통 약간 힘이 더 들어가서 좀 더 오버가 돼서 볼 때 별로 편하지가 않은데 얘넨 진짜 딱 원곡을 최대한 깔끔하게 재현함 그래서 다들 좋아하는듯

I don't exactly search for what I get from original version of a song in the cover version. because the people doing it are different the way they pour emotions are different so this is why I don't judge a cover piece by comparing it to the original version. You might think differently than me,I respect, however this is how I think about this topic. and a serious note: even though I am not a cassie or wasn't listening to Korean music when Dbsk/Tvxq was still around, I am in love with also this song's original version just as much as I love this version done by Monsta X. It is just that I have different approach to covers

As a Cassie, I definitely agree that this is one of the best covers. The unique manly+sexy feel of the song was there yet Monsta X still had their style somehow. P.S. Changmin was 20 when he performed this, guess what, Changkyun too. Yunho was only 22 (babyy kk) but I still feel Monsta X are babies. Maybe because I've been old kpop fan for a long time haha.

I sadly have to agree. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to see hyunjin in the cover but that cover is well, not up to par =/ I do understand maybe the guys didn't have enough time to prepare for the cover but I think the recent sbs cover of the song shows a bigger issue we are seeing in 4th gen and that's well, they have good vocals BUT they don't know how to use them properly aka harmonies. Something I think at least a group should manage to do or at least their vocalist. Sure the dance is also important but it isn't the only thing that makes this performance. It's the vocals, the tricky but beautiful notes. It's why the high note for the new cover made me cringe because you could tell that idol has a good vocal but they just didn't get the proper singing lessons for pulling it off (I know, I sound like I'm trying to sound I know how to sing but it is sadly true. If we look at 4th gen groups, notice how we don't have proper harmonies in songs anymore, if there is It's a playback which is a shame)

I think one of the reason why this cover is legendary is that monsta x didn't erase the identity of the song and the choreography, yet still made it unique and so monsta x. Idk if I make sense but that what i felt when comparing with other covers.
