They do, it's just not on camera. Monsta X especially, they still lurk in the fan section of Vlive and used to leave comments, even during livestreams they comment, they also read our comments everywhere, and they've even read fanfictions. They themselves have talked about this before. They know more about the fans and what we're up to than we realize. And I'm sure other idols have done the same. It would actually be strange if they didn't.
