Still sometime I'm a little worried for him. I feel like being the main speaker (for a lot of interviews) is sometimes a burden. I feel like he can't always communicate what he want. And I would like the other members to talk more, in Korean if the feel more comfortable. I feel for the most part they just depend too much on Kyun.

"You wrote it in all English?" "Word by word, or line by line?" These aren't ways they are talking DOWN or trying to belittle them of their English skills. I think what Zach and his crew are doing is just showing their amazement and appreciation to a KPOP group who's main language is Korean that they are blown away they are making music out of their comfort zone. A lot of US interviewers always push "when is there going to be an English album/song" I think Zach was trying to come across that they don't HAVE to make their songs in English for their music to make an impact, its powerful and loved even in korean. Monsta x can do what they want but I think Zach was trying to come off very impressed and wanting to known the process of recording a song in a language that you aren't even fluent in. That's all. I don't think he was trying to be rude if anything he was really respectful.

@Cast Cal No I understood what you were saying! Also that's great that 40% of people in Asia also have basic English skills but I feel its rude to assume that everyone should speak or know English. So that's why Zach was just trying to show appreciation and wonder cause as he said, he couldn't imagine trying to record anything in another language he doesnt really speak or know well. And as an American who only speaks English I find it very sweet and enjoyable when Kpop artist make English songs- THEY DONT HAVE TO! I love their music no matter what but ya! I'm rambling now haha

I dont think Zach was being disrespectful either. Ive watched a quite a few of his interviews with other groups and his interviews are always my favorites. He asks honest questions that are genuinely interesting. He doesn't push other members to answer if they feel uncomfortable or not confident with their pronunciation but is always happy to hear what they have to say if they do decide to. And honestly thats so refreshing compared to other interveiwers who tend to just rattle off hot topic questions like 'whos your celeb crush' ect and only really pay attention to the resident spokesperson of the group. Which i hate.

It was Changkyun who carried this interview, which I can understand, but the elephant in the room is that with 2 members missing, the others do have to step up a bit communication wise. Kihyun and Shownu are trying more and I applaud them for that. I'm not sure if Hyungwon needs to be coached more, but as someone who biases him, I don't like watching interviews where he's present but doesn't participate as much.

I get it could be depending on the company too, but still.

@@imonoluv7250 I do think the company has a lot to do with it tbh. Got7 is from JYP which is known for being a bit more looser in how their artists can act. Even with a girl group like TWICE, I find that they do still have to follow a certain standard but the artists have less restrictions in the way of dating and such, it's just the fans' reactions that they would be wary about and that's not going to change.

I understand completely that Zac and the gang ask questions about love and relationships to guys. MX just put out a very relationship/love based album, and they want to know as interviewers if this is something personal, because often when artist make albums like this it’s based on feelings they’ve gone through! All the guys are in their mid 20s now, its a pretty high probability that they have gone through one or a few relationships, but because of the way the kpop industry builds its idols, them actually disclosing that they have romantic partners is taboo af. So for Changkyun to slightly panic when asked about it, is also completely understandable. I always enjoy Zach’s interviews, he always tries to ask good questions and engage with the artists, and you can see that they are all comfortable in that space, despite the tender topics of conversation.

I think Zach handled this brilliantly. Everyone knows what the elephant in the room was, and somehow he succeeded in talking about it without talking about it, because I'm fairly sure they aren't allowed to speak on this issue directly. When Zach took the time to answer that question himself, I almost felt like he was trying to put into words what they can't say freely, but what they can most likely relate to a lot.

They can’t ever talk about it. The only time they will is when they end their contract and leave the company. While under contract they have rules and limitations they have to follow or they can get in a lot of trouble. I’m sure they WANT to talk about it. However, if they want to keep their careers and reputation..they have to stay quiet.

They are really a great group to stan. They are so wholesome and humble and really show the real side of themselves when they do stuff like their little reality/game shows and Vlives and stuff. I recommend watching Monsta X-Ray which will make you love them even more. Especially the daycare episode where they take care of babies all day. They're becoming more mainstream now which is a blessing and a curse honestly.

Yeah, unfortunately it was the bad side of attention that got one of the members sabotaged into leaving, and they tried the same with Shownu, because without a leader there's no group. Not many people know this, but Monsta X were sabotaged in their "Follow" comeback for the simple fact that they were rising to fame. Before the "Follow" Music video was even out, I saw a few comments of people snitching on themselves, commenting on Monsta X videos that they were going to sabotage the new comeback in mass, and they even added a smile emoji in the end. I didn't think it would hit Monsta X as hard as it did. Those people had been working behind the scenes long enough to create a large group of haters who didn't want to see Monsta X continue to rise in fame, because that would mean their favorites would be in "competition". Unfortunately, I know what sort of people they were, but I'm not going to bring negativity into this. That's just not what Monbebes do.

I agree with what you said as well, it’s really pathetic when in reality K-Pop is not only about winning awards and competition but it’s more about the love and music, and that’s exactly what MONSTA X gave us (still does). They love their fans so much and provided K-Pop some variety for people who aren’t fans of the “cute and soft” concept, it’s just sad that we had to lose a member in order for the fandom and MONSTA X realize that nobody can stop them and monbebe will always love them. What happened, happened, so there is no need to think about the past because everything ended up being okay in the end.

I think Zach Sang is one, if not the best interviewer in the entertainment industry. He does the research before the guests appear and he asks insightful questions instead of the same questions that have been asked and answered by so many. I think the part where they talk about You Can't Hold My Heart was so strong. Some people are TORTURED by their family or are betrayed by a close friend. Taking back your heart is such a difficult thing and I think that song was so powerful in empowering a person to do what is good for them in such situations.

I'm 100% convinced that when Zach talked his own hardships and mentioned being under constant control/surveillance/whatever by people above him and not being able to truly do/say whatever he wants, he was actually making a point about Starship's behavior here and trying to resonate with the Monsta X members. He was very obviously trying to touch the topic that was unmentionable here, aka. the fact that Wonho is no longer a member in the group but the remaining Monsta X members have to keep pretending he never was and never talk about him again, precisely because of the people above them who censor them.
