I love this tank. When my disability meant I couldn't keep up with the upkeep of the tank, my fish went to our local fish shop. The owner kept several.for himself as he was impressed with the size and health of them. I had a leaf fish (was my favorite) scats, (my husband loved them) and clown loaches. We had a Chinese algae eater but we had to get rid of him as he was a bully and would attack my fish.

Does the African arrowana still hide out during the day as we hardly see it. Let's hope the parts for the salt water tank get there as I can't wait to see it completed.

Rich just jump ahead of the plastic pieces. You can look up the size and predrill the holes. If you need to expand you can do it when you get them. Paint the board black now so you don't have to do later. Move the sunbed now . It will cut time .If you wait for things it won't get done. If time is a problem because we all know your caring for Tracy also. So you can get a volunteer to start painting and get some people to move the bed . I'm looking forward to see it all in place. I guess the Lizard is dead. 😑 Get some snails and others to work on the Algae. Maybe some that get big...If tge otger fish don't eat them. Some chicken wire under your bridge to stop the big fish from swimming up that way . That's sad it died.😔

Since the DH tank will end up as a deep water tank with a modest footprint, would a Lake Tanganyika species theme make sense? 'Scape it up with some tiers and place *some* of your younger frontosa collection in there plus get some shell dwellers for the bottom level. I'm sure there will be ideas for top level swimmers too. Some of these Tanked builds were too deep and narrow for owners to ever clean properly. Their telephone booth tank comes to mind. And the DH is basically an up-sized phone booth shape. Since there are no plants to worry about, have you thought about some apple snails for the 1800g to control algae? Beware, they are a double-edged sword. They can be impossible to get rid of if you should change your mind but are big enough to not all become instant fish food.

Big rich, you are right. Plecoes are way over-rated as algae eaters. Definitely do not live up to its stated reputation. However, in tanks with gravel or substrate, plecoes do stir up or move the gravel enough to prevent excessive growth of algae. But on their own, plecoes are not great algae eaters as compared to the waste/poop that they produce.

Big rich I think if you guys made 2-3 videos per week people would be waiting for a new one instead of doing one per day. People might be on the edge of their seat with anticipation of the next video if they didn't get one every day. Kind of like when you have too much of a good thing it grows old on you. I don't know just a thought. I watch every video every day. But what do I know
