You got that right, dude 👍 I've seen so many of these videos and they're totally ruined by these morons whooping and cheering like they're at a football game or something. I wouldn't go on one of these iceberg tours because I don't want to be anywhere near these clowns.

Having just been at the sawyer glacier south of juneau alaska I have to say watching a glacier calve is beyond my expectations. Absolutely powerful and beautiful at the same time. By the way these glaciers have been receding for the last 300 years. Part of life and the earth's cycle.

Tens of thousands of years ago it didn't matter as much as it does today, but, that conveyor belt is speeding up, that's the big worry for us now.

@@1marcelo Not tall at all when you consider that glaciers used to be a mile or more thick. They may have been thicker on land than on sea. And they used to be smooth enough to travel on . . . carefully of course.

Amazing how the dark mountain in the background gives that moonscape lighting effect in the first clip. Bright white daylight shining from the side, near horizon and a black sky. Like the arctic has no atmosphere or something. You see it zoomed out at 5:56

It would be fascinating if they had a drone or aircraft, that would scan the glacier with radar to find the weaknesses in the glacier and predict the weaknesses and eventually areas that would be falling off next.

Spectacular moments of nature are thoroughly spoiled by the over-dramatical screeches from some of those watching. If only the screeching people had respect for those who want to watch in quiet awe it would have been so much better.

No quisiera aparecer como un desubicado que no disfruta de la naturaleza,es cierto que es un espectáculo increíble,pero si pensamos que eso sucede en parte gracias al calentamiento global y que cada día ese espectáculo va minando la existencia de ese Glaciar y un día ya no exista y eso está sucediendo con todos y mientras nosotros reímos y gritamos la verdad si lo veo como todos,un espectáculo,pero no me produce alegría sino tristeza al ver como se desprenden esos inmensos trozos de hielo que me parece llegan a su fin,lo siento para mi es triste.

This glacier is calving. Evidently a LOT of people here do not know what calving means. Glaciers that terminate at a shoreline _and are growing_ reach a point where they can no longer support their own weight. Guess what happens then. It happens over and over and over and…as long as the glacier is growing. That is why tourists have been visiting it for _decades._

Titled as Monster and yet the first event we see is equivalent to the ice tray falling from your freezer onto the floor. Although the next one is literally, a (monster), rising from the sea.
