MONSTER HIGH NEWS! G3 Nickelodeon series CANCELLED? + Barbie X Noonoouri collaboration dolls!

Honestly I doubt the g3 dolls will be affected by this (majorly at least) but let’s hope season 3 maybe happens or mattel makes a new show elsewhere

My theory is that Mattel is quietly walking away from the Nickelodeon partnership, because A, Nickelodeon isn’t treating the brand that well, and B, Mattel underestimated just HOW popular Monster High is, and is now aiming for bigger things, hence the upcoming theatrical movie at Universal. It wouldn’t surprise me if G4 happens within the next five years, considering how fast OTHER toy lines reboot themselves (My Little Pony, TMNT, Transformers, etc.)

Actually, I wonder if the reboot will come a little sooner, and i'm mostly in agreement with you, but I think what happened with the added Misconduct with children why they walked away as well. Top it off documentary, quiet on set aired They genuinely could see why mattel wouldn't want that mess, With nickelodeon being sued right now.

Please keep Generation 3 Monster High going (both the movies and the tv series). I got into Monster High 2 years ago and I have to say this generation lifted up my spirits when my mom got sick with cancer and later passed away. I really think Generation 3 needs more storylines to explore and more characters for fans to enjoy. Please keep it coming! Also, what I really like about this generation the characters are allowed to have growth and development so I think it would really benefit the show and the films if this generation was to keep going.

no, g3 sucks. g1 and even g2 comparatively, were better than whatever g3 turned out to be. og mh fans hate g3. it didn't appeal as much as they wanted it to.

I don't think that cancelation of g3 show means anything for dolls. Dolls weren't matching show most of the time, and big chunk of dolls weren't in show. Also, from how people talk about it online most people didn't even seen show.

Honestly most doll brands cycle between 1 to 3 years before at least a soft reboot, so 2 seasons of an ongoing show for a legacy franchise isn't that bad, especially compared to a lot of boys toy cartoon tie ins. Unfortunately, kids outgrown toys a lot faster nowadays so I couldn't see g3 getting an ongoing series that lasted beyond 3 seasons anyway so let's hope the series ends on a high note.

I love the 2D stuff on youtube its so similar to the OG webisodes i think its wild when G1 stans dunk on it (not saying you are, just that people do while praising g1 as god) so I'll be happy if they continue making those The number of characters that are exclusive to the nickelodeon show tho makes me sad because I love the parents and the teachers and unique students they brought in that I guess wont be able to be used anymore. I know the show getting cancelled doesn't MEAN G3 is over but it does may me worry. Maybe it's nothing to do with popularity and budget but I feel allot of the recent dolls have had cheaper fabrics and less detail.

A part of me thinks that this is just a matter of Mattel or Nickelodeon canceling the contract as it was announced back in June of this year that Universal Studios is making a live action Monster High movie that gonna be a theatrical release and the contract probably had only 2 seasons in it to start with. Also any licensed property that’s given to Nickelodeon usually bails out immediately since they don’t know how to handle it if it’s not SpongeBob cuz the same thing happened with Miraculous Ladybug as they set up that show to fail on the network as they gave it an odd time slot of Sundays at 12pm and Zagg who are the creators ended it and signed contracts with Netflix and Disney instead for the Miraculous brand.

I liked the g3 show more than the g1 webisodes for the breadth of the world and the characters (links to all the eps are available online). But as mentioned, Nickelodeon has a record of screwing over if not completing canning any shows they can't squeeze for profit like Spongebob, no matter how good or even popular the show is. Legend of Korra always comes to mind for me, but the reminder about Harvey Beaks hurts Plus the entire animation industry is up in flames right now with studios laying off workers left and right for, you guessed it, corporate greed 🤪 Idk how easily the MH show crew can find other projects, because even people who've worked in the industry for years are having it rough right now. And that's coming from someone who's been trying to get _into_ the industry 🙃 Why pay people to make quality when you can have AI make stolen slop for cheap Speaking of, what an awful barbie collab lmaooo

I really liked the show. I'm really sad if they do decide to never order a third season. That being said I guess Ikind of knew this would be the fate of the show. Putting this show on Nickelodeon which as far as I know is strictly a cable TV channel was never a good idea. As someone who grew up watching cable TV in the 90s and 2000s it was really hard for me to make the decision to stop paying for a cable as an adult. It is too expesive. Keeping Disney+, Hulu, and Netflix is far cheaper for me. Cable is dying because there is more flexibility and options with streaming. If they moved the show a streamer like, Paramount+ maybe, you know, the one that had the Nickelodeon shows already on it beforw they took it all off, I would get Paramount+ just to watch it. But I highly doubt they would do anything short of making their own overpriced NickelodeonMAX subscription service to make us all fork up the dough to access it. But honestly, I really want to see the show live on. So I hope they do something less shitty than canceling it all together.

I just finished watching season 1 of the g3 cartoon and i absolutely fell in love with it and the characters along with all the messages and lessons it gave tying in to each character going through a struggle and it was so fun and whimiscal while also being real, my personal favorite was frankie because of how much they were able to grow as a character and the nb representation but i really hope we still get some sort of cartoon for g3🙏

It is a shame that we're not getting a season 3, but it's not surprising. Nickelodeon shows that star a female character tend to get even worse treatment than those starring a male character. Just look at shows like My Life As A Teenage Robot, The Mighty B, The Casagrandes, The Legend Of Korra, Making Fiends, and It's Pony. I would wonder if Mattel should've partnered with Netflix for the show given all the Mattel shows there. Then I realized that, other than Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures, they don't last that long.

I realy wish that Mattel will do more mature-looking series for g3. I ADORE G3, but i think that this series was very limiting for Mattel dolls. I would love to see Mattel using those characters from music video for new series they are so pretty and they look so good in my opinion.

Too bad about the show. I never saw any of it, I don’t know if there was even any way for me to watch it legally lol. I may hate what they did to Iris (She’s me and they gave her ugly clothes and it hurts) but I thought the art style was cute and liked quite a few of the show original characters designs. (I think there was a bunny girl and she was so cute!!) I can’t say I’m surprised though, even aside from Nickelodeons disappointing track record it felt weird that they chose to air the Monster High show there. I feel like monster high doesn’t match Nickelodeon’s vibes lol. I think people are quick to jump to ‘It’s the end of the doll line!’ Though. Not just for monster high either people were saying rainbow high was dead as early as after Rainbow vision and they still had a lot of good releases between then and the slime reboot. Same with OMG, like sure we got a bunch of weird budget dolls for a while but the two most recent OMG dolls have some of the best designs IMO. I realize these are both MGA brands but I feel like it’s just kind of similar.

I just wish they’d be more willing to release new characters as dolls instead of giving us A gazillion Draculauras and lots of the other core girls. Right now I think my biggest wishes are for Rochelle and Cupid. (And an Iris to completely redress and restyle) I’d also like a lot of the characters that were made specifically to tie into the movies like all of the haunted dolls and Avea, but I don’t see those being nearly as likely. I think it would be fun to just introduce some completely new characters as dolls too, I know they can’t do the characters from the show but there’s no reason why they can’t make a new character specifically for the doll line. I know they won’t because they only care about who sells the best but it would still be nice lol.

Hopefully they keep releasing dolls and then thankfully the designs wouldn't have to be tied to the cartoon anymore. A lot of the G3 cartoon looks were just terrible. Hopefully everyone gets a core refresh and better designed dolls continue to be made.
