@@7James77 I've been playing it on citra, and it works pretty much flawlessly, and you can still do multiplayer lobbies through citra, so I think this is a really good alternative since every time I get on, there's still at least 4 or 5 lobbies up.

Yes! Started playing a short while ago. 30 hrs in, and I love it. Beat the Nerscylla guild hunt with no deaths recently, after several attempts. Super satisfying, and crafted myself a nice armor out of it. Hope to get the most of online play before the 3DS servers shut down

For people saying the armor is worthless...the armor IS worthless if you it comes with no gems slotted in, but the slotted pieces can allow you to obtain multiple double skills easily. Edge lore doesn't have pieces that go over +3, and people even run Divine Ire chest with +1. Putting a +4 relic armor with kujula grip and divine ire legs gets you to 10 without having to use 2 pieces, thus freeing up the other.

I dont really know if there's an actual use for relic armor since you cant really make full sets and since they come with fixed decorations you cannot really mix them up. Weapons on the other side are pretty sweet

Zerobloodify They have few uses. For example: common edgemaster sets contains 3 parts with edgemaster +3 and rajang chest with edgemaster +1 but i use relic chest with edgemaster +4 so I can replace one of these edgemaster +3 parts for somethin' more useful.

Not only are they good for using but you can also use the armors and weapons to forge armor. Much better to save them than just sell them.

I've found that trading rarity 7 relics for points will soon leave you hurting for awesome abrasives. But rarity 8 relics, albeit 50% of the time needing zenith stones, actually give you 2 out of 3 awesome abrasives back upon trade. Plus they are worth 2500 caravan points, while rare 7 weapons go up to 2000. Why was I led to believe I need to stock up on rare 7's? Now I'm out of awesome abrasives and there is no good way to farm them quickly. You get 1-2 per GQ. ONE OR TWO. Moral of the story: Rarity 8 relics are better.

I've got a bit of a question: I've been finding many of the guild quests and DLC to have monsters that tend to completely wreck me in a few hits, even with full health and some defense buffs. I know I need to get better armor but what's the best way to go about that? Is it best to complete (or at least mostly) the single player portion before trying the guild ones? There's been times where a crazy-high ranked player is in my group and we beat the quest but even if I manage to not die it feels like my vastly inferior armor and weapons really weren't helping much (luckily MH seems to have the nicest player community I've ever seen and no one has been upset about it in the least). If you've got any advice that'd be great as I'd like to be able to help a bit more and not feel like all my HR is coming from HR150 people but me and three others of similar rank (I'm currently 4; three 3's and a 5 to get there but the Dah'ren Mohran was more a long fight than a difficult one).

There's not much you can do to stop that except put a strict HR cap on your Hunter's Hub, or kick the top leveled players. No matter how good you are, it's impossible to keep up with someone in optimized G Rank gear while using High Rank equipment. If they are with you, they will "carry" you; you may as well stay at camp. Either that or just enjoy the free rewards with minimal risk of loss. As an alternative to that situation, you can ask the HR100+ players to use level appropriate gear. (Also yeah, go for Caravan before Hub generally, and especially before grinding guild quests. Grinding guild quests on the side can be good though.)

I recommend going to the volcanic hollow in low and high rank for anything from armor sphere+ to hvy for strong armor spheres I go to the dunes (night) in g rank. Divine can only be gotten by completing some guild quests that are level 126 and above, the monsters include all elder dragons, rajang, regios, brach, diablos, tigrexs, and a few others.

Just go on expeditions and hunt the monsters you find on them. Then you'll get guild quests, and you can do those in the Hunter's Hub/Elder Hall. Level them up, and bam You'll be carting infinitely to Lvl 140 deities

In the wiki it is said that you get the relic weapons only from specific monsters. I did a chameleos and got another weapon than it should had been. Why? And is there anything you can refer to if you got a relic and dont know if it is good? Have the different types of relics (battered weapon, seasoned weapon etc) something to do with the weapon itself or only with its stats?

I know its pretty late Lol, but in my experience since that i started plating mh4u some weeks ago, i think the table is related to the guild quests but in expeditions it may be 100% random since i too got a relic that it says drops from gore magala in an expedition but when doing guild quest i only get the same one (but i think is only a Cosmetic thing and you can still get good relics no matter if its the "low ones")

Matthew Badillo Those aren't the relic weapons. Just a materials used in making other gear like Artian. The actual "relic" gear will always be named XXX Armor/Weapon where XXX is a rank of an item (like Seasoned or Beshackled).

Soulblast2 Absolutely. As an example, I have a relic CB with 1116 base raw and 450 non-hidden dragon, without ever having upgraded it. Although sadly element phail, those stats are absurd compared to regular CBs and definitely worth upgrading.

I actually heard that the wikia is inaccurate, I've had experience where I defeated a monster but didn't get the weapon that it said I would, in the case where I should have received a Bolt, I got Flash instead from the GS. But the thing is apparently, different types of pre-relic stuff like Seasoned, Battered, Venerable all have different outcomes apparently.
