You know you could start a history tour business in a heart beat. Take tourists on day tours of the area. You’re knowledgeable and well spoken. Do it a couple days a week and I bet you’d have a side business that helps with your renovation costs.

My Granda’s medals are on display in Fort George, he was in the Seaforth & Cameron Highlanders. My Granny and Granda had a bed and breakfast right on the side of the Nairn links. I used to spend my Summer holidays there, where my cousins, who lived and still live in Nairn, and I spent most of our time on the beach. I remember walking back up to my Aunties house in bare feet and got my feet burned from the hot pavement.

Hi Katie and Scott. Love your new intro. I'm a Canadian living in Norfolk of Scots decent. I'm a Christie born into the Walker family linked to the MacLeods thru marriage. We came from the Ardrossan Ayr and Irvine areas from what I understand. I have always wished I lived in Scotland, having visited many times. My great Uncle played the bass drum in the Black Watch band in Montreal many years ago, and to this day a pipe band is guaranteed to bring a tear to my eye and a lump to the throat. Bless you both. And you are right Scott. Jack would have known what that clamp was for. Xxxxxxx

I’m guessing that the hut on wheels may well have been a shepherds hut. There used to be one in my back garden in my last rented house. The local chimney sweep knew the history of it. It belonged to his late elderly Aunt, who farmed further up the road from my former house. It was bought by the previous tenant of my house, (3x back) when the farm was ‘rouped oot.’ It was promptly pulled down to my house by tractor and set in place with the garden. The chimney sweep shared that it was taken up into the hill fields by horse and used by the shepherd to stay in and tend the sheep when it was lambing season. The wheels had been long removed and the rims were sunk in various places within the garden to create borders. 😁

Great video, beautiful scenery and well shot. I was wondering if the clamp in the antique shop might be used for book binding? Love the drawers, not so keen on the desk, I think after a while you will wish it was a bit wider in the centre at least you can always resell it and buy another one if you want to. Looking forward to when you can access the cottage.

Wow, it is like the sea, not a Loch, those folk are very brave swimming in it! 🥶❄️ The Army Regiment at Fort George now would probably be the Royal Regiment of Scotland, formed in 2006 and an amalgamation of several Lowland & Highland Scottish Regiments, the Black Watch and Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders amongst them. The devastatingly handsome King's Equerry who became famous for being at the King's side during the Accession and Coronation, wearing his Ceremonial Uniform of tartan kilt is from the Royal Regiment of Scotland 5th Battalion Balaklava Company, formerly the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, who the Late Queen Elizabeth was Patron of from the age of 21. The Equerry was promoted to an Aide mostly now behind the scenes, but accompanying the Royal Family on Christmas Day at Sandringham walking to Church, and directing the security operation. His name is Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Thompson, known as Jonny.💙
