@@wallycastagnir I checked out a gaijin goomba video on raijin, this doesn't seem to be the case. though raijin had a dangerous competition with his brother and despite being demon faced, he was seen as a good god, and he was a son of izanagi and izanami, who created japan in shinto mythology. he was feared to an extent, but there's no mention of yokai in that video, and I don't think fearing something immediately makes it a yokai either. from what I know, raijin is not at all considered a yokai, but his companion, raiju, is. I even looked at some websites that list many yokai to be sure, but raijin wasn't there. I'm no expert, but from my knowledge there's plenty of differences between yokai and kami

He had at least human level intelligence, so likely knew he was too injured to help her in any other way. You can even see them communicating right before she does it, like he's arguing with her that this is the other way. He doesn't even fight back or anything. This isn't a case of the Seltas Queen snacking on one of her thousands of lovers for a quick bite. These might have been the last two of their kind left, and they spent all that time looking for each other and yearning to be together. In the cutscene where they finally join up again, they seem to be dancing with each other and talking excitedly, like you would with a loved one you were long separated from. Please keep your cringe to yourself. I hope in 10 years you'll look back on this behavior like "damn... 14 year old me was dumb as fuck 🤡"

@@StoutShako or it's just part of their mating cycle, narwa guards the eggs/kids and ibushi guards the nest and drives off potential threats. If the threat provides too much for ibushi narwa will kill him for (possibly temporary) powerup so she can better defend the eggs/kids

Newbie hunter here, I have just fought this guy for the first time, I used a Insect Glaive not sure if it was a good idea as Ibushi is a wind's elder dragon and even I know what it means, but I main IG. In the midle of the fight Ibushi smashed the ground and rised stones from the earth, twirling in the air as he made a tornado around itself, I stopped for a few seconds to watch that, and then the first thing I did was to launch myself in there, the next seconds were epic looking: with me moving the camera in all directions to see where the stones where moving while avoiding them mid-air, and Ibushi's crimson eye showing up every few seconds as he keep turning and twirling around me, then I did a Diving Wywern just before he blasted me away, I'm not sure how he did that (a burst of wind? a flying stone? it's tail? not sure, gotta study it's moveset), but it was epic (at least for me). If they ever do a Monster Hunter Rise anime (or ova), I hope they made one of the main hunters use the IG.

They're also known as the "wind god serpent" and the "lightning serpent" and amatsumagatsuchi is known as the god of the heavens. Sure, Amatsu might not be the child, but it could possibly be related to it since the bodies and the feathers are a lot alike. I could be wrong, but you never know.

Fighting this guy alone in the event quest with a great sword is surprisingly fun. I thought it would be a pain because well... he flies and the great sword has roughly the reach of a new born baby but they give you plenty of opportunity to hit him.

They constantly talk about “wiping the land clean,” “rending the skies asunder,” or “paving the road to paradise [with hurricane and thunder]”. They do want to mate, but they think they need to destroy the land after that to make room for their kid(s). Fatalis only wants to destroy that which man has made. Fatalis holds a deep-set grudge against humanity, and roosts in Schrade both as a message, and because it was available.

I love Master Rank Ibushi, both his fight and his weapons. His melee weapons, when you reach Master Rank, have an interesting trait that no others have - they have natural purple sharpness, but they actually don't have any white sharpness - it goes straight to blue. However, this still counts as a drop of two levels for the purposes of the new Grinder (S) skill. This skill works as follows depending on how many levels you have: 1 level - 60 seconds of increased raw and elemental attack after restoring 3 levels of sharpness. 2 levels - 60 seconds of increased raw and elemental attack after restoring 2 levels of sharpness 3 levels - Same as above, but the boost lasts for 90 seconds. It apparently works by increasing the sharpness modifier for raw and elemental attack. It works out to about 10% more raw damage and 7% more elemental damage. Thus, if you like to use Ibushi weapons, you should use 2-3 ranks of Grinder (S) to give it even more kick.
