MH is basically the video game version of that. They are hundreds of hours long, and reuse a lot of the same content, but the core gameplay loop is so satisfying that it takes a long time for them to get old.

@@misspikapika7972 Yeah, I doubt Arceus would even come close. Sure the art style might head into a similar style, but monster animation or even gameplay wise, I don't think so. Sword and Shield had a chance to improve things, but didn't. Arceus would be a repeat of Sword and Shield for most part.

I played the demo for Rise isn't a good reflection on the whole game because it just gives you a few missions to play with armor sets you didn't forge yourself. Whereas the demo for Stories straight up gives you the first chapter of the game.

I personally have no frame rate issues in this game like some comments stated, my Switch is from 2017 and the game runs fine. Been enjoying it since 25 June :) Started with the trial version first

On the 2019 Switch you have most of the time 40 to 60 fps. There aren't drops below 30. That's actually a difference, but on the 2017 Switch it runs fine.😊 I know these comparison details, because I tested it on my own.

I only experience delays of a few seconds when going online in a game, don't know if that counts as a drop but anyway i think that saying Monster Hunter Stories 2 dropping to 10 is a bit exaggerated if anything but that's just my own thinking :)

If you are looking for something to ease you back into the series, I would recommend Rise. But if you are looking for a true challenge, Generations Ultimate is your best bet.

Just played the demo. Unless they fix that fps and cap it to 30 to have it smooth like Rise. I’m not getting it. It feels terrible on the current Switch right now. Looks pretty, seems really fun. But bad performance. People can defend Nintendo all they want but we really do need that Switch Pro to have all games atleast run at a stable 30 with no drops.

Damn this royal Tigrex is so hard to get, if any of you are tempted DON'T EVEN TRY before lv.14. I did it at lv.11 and only got it to retreat after the third slay. The amount of time I needed to do this were so high that I just could have progressed some more and make it significantly more easy for myself. At least now I have my early game Tigrex

So Rise is a part of the main series where you go on epic hunts and take down giant monsters boss battle style. Stories is a Pokemon-style spin off series, designed to be more approachable to newcomers than the mainline series, while still offering a lot for MH fans.

I want monster Hunter stories 2, to come to mobile. It just felt right on mobile for some reason. When I played it on 3ds, it just felt boring even tho it's the same it just felt better on mobile. So I hope it comes to mobile in the future cause the first one was on mobile and we can't say the graphics would be heavy. The more I look at that co-op exclusive monster ??? The fact it had a cutscene with it makes me feel thats in the base game, and are just using it to not show what they are planning. Now that shadow looks like its most likely fatalis, and if fatalis is in the base game, I wonder if that means the co-op exclusive may be one of the other two fatalis, crimson or white. Either way I'm glad I have the game now and will be enjoying it til the day dread comes out, and probably some more after I beat dread too.

I love this game only 2 games for this title and its already outdone pokemon, overworld, the town, battle, skills and idle animation, cutscene r very alive and u can feel every attack unlike in pokemon some r good and most r just standing. When monster is in sleep status they really sleep, unlike in pokemon they just close their eyes and put "zzzz" and still move slowly lmao. Hope this become a hit so they can make MHS3.

Can someone explain to me how the game is like? I know it has RPG elements but is it like as you go through the story, you get new party members or more like Pokemon where you raise monsters that battle for you?

Kinna both. Different chapters of the story will pair you up with other characters and their monsters, but then you also raise your own monsters Pokemon style. You can play the entire first chapter in the demo if you are interested in giving it a try. The combat system is more simple than Pokemon's, but also has a lot more layers to it.
