correct me if I'm wrong. Do you need to fill the axe and sword phial completely to do that super elemental sword discharge? It seems there were instances where you could only do one slash or two slashes depending on the gauge.

If you want to do the powered up version (Full Release Slash) you need to be amped. The weaker version (Compressed Slash) does not requiere the amped state.
