Another reveiwer stated something along the line of "monster hunter wilds is exactly monster hunter world but in every best possible way." Personally, this is the best endorsement for this game. The devs aimed for the stars but did not kill the soul. The past games had which is a sign of amazing work and talent on the devs' part.

After playing the beta I’m looking forward to the game even more. The dual blade charges are so good. I like that you’re not stuck in the demon attacks and the perfect dodge attack just feels good to pull off.

I also am sad about the insect glaive not flying anymore but I do like not having to run in circles collecting essence the first 30 seconds of the fight now since focus mode gets them. My son is interested in playing the beta with me which is a super exciting dad moment. May have to use the healing insect glaive now.

i prefer it this way. in other mh games the insect glaive was a good balance between ground attacks and flying attacks, but most damage was aleays dealt on ground. in world there was too much flying, which resulted in less overall damage, so i ended up not using it anymore which was a pitty as it was my favourite weapon back in mh4u, so i think the change is great

I was never an insect glaive player, but from what I gathered for world they had to drastically increase the hot boxes of attacks because if they didn't insect glaives could just not take damage ever

Just played the beta! So far I'm loving the move to "seamless" open world gameplay, but it does make co-op with friends a bit more annoying to pull off. Hopefully they smooth it out further before release but as of right now, the game feels super polished!

I never really got into the other Monster Hunter games, but I gave this Beta a chance and really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like is that after the beginning there is no training area for weapons to practice with them. I hope they include something like that when the full game comes out

I feel like monsters need more generous hitboxes for ledge hopping and fix how stiff it feels when sliding on hills so we can have fun doing hammer spins. Wilds is a very fun game but i wish it didn't lose things that made Worlds weapons fun. Clutch Claw included!!

My first ever MH game was also World and it quickly became one of my best games ever. Then Rise happened and I was very sceptical about it because of the "ugly" UI. After few years I've decided to give it a try and... omg, I was so stupid. I absolutely fell in love. And now Wilds. Oh man, I can't wait for the release. This beta feels amazing and I know that the final product will be even better. The hype is real! 🤩

I really liked the changes with the dual blades. Played sunbreak with those and evade window + evade extender, you basically dash around the monster. Can't wait to play the beta on steam (I don't have a PS5).

I was curious what your PC hardware is for the beta because I'm trying to see if people are struggling with the performance because of their hardware. If you're running Nvidia or AMD, my friend and I are on the AMD version of the 4070 and 4090 and we can run the game at max settings at 4k at more than 60fps

Was a huge fan of Freedom Unite 2 on PSP, dumped over 1,000 hours in that one and played a bit of World and Rise and loved them, so I'm pumped for this one! Great video!!

Insect glaive hasn't been nerfed at all. It is more like a gameplay change if anything. The weapon is still very powerful, you can just check the speed run times and gameplay for evidence of that.

The number of jumps is related to the amount of stamina (always has been, to a large extent). Between food and skills, it seems likely that you'll be able to stay in the air a lot more as you gain access to more abilities and better food.

Yep, insect glaive now has a different play style. For now the good combo is when you had all the extract, you hold O then you fly and do the downthrust after that auto charged O atk and then gowith r2 triangle + O a.k.a the ig shoryuken. After that you can finish with whatever you like aerial move.

Played since the first one. I remember playing with my friend and we had “double dragon” style rathalos armors. One had the original rathalos armor and the other had azure rathalos armor. That recollection and playing “claw” style” on the psp until you had a blister on your left index finger are some of my fondest gaming memories.

First thanks for this video appreciate it. I first started my MH journey with the first game on psp, it just didnt click for me but had fun on a handheld console playing this. Maybe, I should have played with friends and given MH1 more time and research. I moved on to MH World years later I think recommended by a friend played for a while then stopped for some reason. Now to this current time and I have really enjoyed MH Wilds Beta with a playtime of 2 hours so far. Something about the gameplay and how polished it looked for me was so good. I'm using a charge blade and didn't realise how adaptable the weapon is with a sword and shield allowing you to be agile and defensive but also change to a slower more damaging axe by combining the sword and shield. The environmental stuff with large quick sands, fighting a boss monster seeing them struggle there way out of one and monsters fighting one another made it more dynamic. I think I'll preorder MH Wilds 😃👍💪

My first game was 4U and my first weapon ever was insect glaive. Seeing it's massive glow up in world was beautiful and, even if I have pivoted towards greatsword, it is sad to see insect glaive lose its airial prowess, but everything else about it looks great.

i dont have a PS5 so i have to wait for the pc beta and hope my computer can handle it, i look forward to playing it. i started MH with rise not long after it released and eventually played world, i fell in love with the game in the rise demo and played a few hours without realizing. i started with the bow but settled on the CB, I cant wait to bring both out on hunts with me!

Eheey, another Fiver! High five! I got to try Wilds on PC a midrange PC from 5 years ago and a PS5. Sadly got to play for a few hours a day due to obligations but man... World 2.0! I am worried about the world size though, if it is 4 biomes divided into smaller open areas, because the desert/grassland we had is nice but with the amount of monsters announced it has to be multiple open areas per biome.

You mean harder lol. You can go straight into it anymore you have to either do after an AED or you have to do it only after blocking an attack which tbh will take some getting used to but it makes the weapon more interesting and SAED should be reserved for specific punishes. The new improvements to axe mode and the phial overcharge mechanic is really cool and the weapon is way more fun. Will take a bit of getting used to.

Can't wait for the game. The only concern is the one that many ppl have: Performance. I actually have a pretty decent PC and I do not want to use Frame Generation or FSR when I am only playing at 1440p, but yeah I really hope that the perfomance on PC is better than the system requirements are making it out to be. Hard to comment on nerfs until we can run our own armour/gems/skill equipment combos. It's more likely the Beta equipment setup was lower level than most would run. Especially me since I always got invested in the crafting and upgrading. My stuff was always higher than it needed to be just because I liked grinding for it.

I think they need to balance the focus strike wound mechanics. If it works as it is now, it's gonna be just as if not more cheezy than the clutch claw. My friends and I pretty much had no trouble killing a Doshaguma(spell?) by rotating focus strikes because it drops the monster every time.

I didnt even look at gun lance in the monster hunter world but now it pretty damn strong, plus the focus mode is literally the gods grace the pc gamers since now we can aim properly.There were a lot of weapon that I avoided including great sword in monster hunter world because I sucked at its aiming but now I absolutely loved it and played the hell out of it in Beta.

Regarding IG perma aerial in World was a dps loss but in Rise it did have that one dive that gets more damage depending on each aerial hit It was funner in Rise but i guess its more like World now. I'll live tbh

I just hope the full game will have an offline mode. When I don’t hunt with friends I generally hunt alone,and I don’t want to wait for a connection to be established every time I boot up the game only for players I don’t care about to drop my frames. Plus, there’s always a risk of a disconnect, booting you straight out to the title screen.
