Even after the actual version of this song came out I still really like this composition. It feels more focused and drsmatic, which I feel conveys the mystical vibe Rey Dau has better.

This monster design man, his every inch was designed to make him look awesome, he’s like astalos’s much cooler ancestor I mean the wing blades, the perfectly aligned scales, the patterns, the horns, the personality on that face, the glow in his lightning mode, his shine in game, he literally looks like if lightning was a monster, I hope I get the chance to fight this beast

I was wondering how it’s model would suddenly change just because it hit the ground but if it’s dragging it’s wings through sand then I guess it would get coated on fulgurite. I thought it would do some crazy stuff like ricochet railgun shots off the fulgurite to hit people on the side

It feels very native American inspired. Perhaps Ray Dau takes some inspiration from the myth of the Thunderbird

@@thesussadin I’ve seen lots of people theorize the same thing, and also theorize that wilds takes inspiration from various cryptids. Rey could be a thunderbird, balahara could be a Mongolian death worm, chatacabra could be a chupacabra(?), etc If that’s the case it’s really cool to see that they also took musical inspiration to go with the creatures!

If I remember correctly, some depictions of thunder birds have two heads. Rey Dau's horns almost look like a pair of beaks when it's focusing lightning attacks. Never would've made that connection myself, but basing a monster off the thunder bird is an awesome idea!

I have been picking apart this arrangement for DAYS. There are some serious nods to Seliana township, Nergigante, Shara Ishvalda, Brachidios, Kulve Taroth. All New World sounds... I almost feel like there is just a bit of Guiding Lands in there too. Of course the Windward Plains is a huge part of the OST, Gauss Rifle with Wings is the Apex after all. It's HIS home terf. Makes sense that most of his theme is EXTREME nods to Windward Plains. I have without any doubt, we are still in the New World with this one, just in the land mass on the left side of the map, covered by the clouds.

What percentage of completion is this from your point of view? Also, how was this made?

It can only be so accurate because we don’t have any clean source for the theme so I’d say it is around 70-80%. The original will be better, it is amazing! I made it in FL Studio using VSTs to recreate it from what could be heard between the gameplay videos and trailer!

I don't okay MH wilds so idk, what's the difference between Rey Dau and Astalos other than their physiology? since both of them yields lightning and they are both flying wyvern

Well, the entire moveset from what I know. I fought Astalos like once and only saw bits of Rey Dau (trying to go in blind but GOD it's so hard.) One is an electric wasp dragon the other one is a railgun dragon so I would say there is probably a big difference that isn't just looks and sound design :3

No me gusta la verdad. Suena muy generico. No tiene ese toque que diga estoy peleando contra un Ray Dau, mas bien parece una musica de combate generica. Donde esta la potencia como el tema del zinogre, o la presencia que emite el tema del Malzeno, o mejor aun donde quedo la omnipotencia que imponia el tema del fatalis blanco? Los ultimos monster hunter flaquean mucho en la musica. en fin, es mi opinion y gusto.
