The first time I encountered Deviljho was in the Rotten Vale. I wounded an Odogaron in an expedition on single player and it said it was slain as I went to it's cave. I didn't get to see who it was, though... Then I get in there to see and there's this giant pickle with teeth *beating the shit* out of it against the wall, drops it and then turns towards me. Ran away and encountered Great Girros taking a stroll and Deviljho picked him up and used him like a chew toy, then threw it at me. I killed it eventually, but holy crap was that first impression memorable.

So MHW was my first MH game, and my introduction to Deviljho was when I was hunting a Tobi for parts. My sister was telling me something about her day at school while I was playing, and I turn a corner and there’s this dude carrying the monster I was hunting in it’s mouth. It was so effective that my sister stopped in mid sentence and went “well...shit.” Well done, Capcom. I’m willing to forgive you for Resident Evils 5&6 now.

As a new recent player getting it cause my Dad found it for cheap at a toy show (hot wheels fan btw, he is), First encounter was hunting a Rathalos up in it's nest in the Ancient Forest, then that mf comes running up to start a turf war outta nowhere. I was able to beat said Rathalos ofc, but Deviljho was insistent on killing Rath too. Tag Team idea didn't go down too well

Ant Art He’ll only break out of them *that* fast, if you or your teammates use many pitfalls on him. lol All monsters in the series build up a resistance to both status effects, flash bombs, AND traps! Meaning that the more traps you use on them, the faster they’ll be able to get out of them. Same with the Flash bombs’ effect being shorter if you spam them. (However, these resistances were not a thing on Gen1 and Gen2 MH games.)

First time hunting the bomber, this is not gonna be easy... Then THIS guy shows up, using said bomber as a chew toy. Bomber flies away, however, the devil does not leave. Rather it starts to give chase. Took a hidden camp to lose the bloody thing, it simply would not stop chasing my ass down. What a first impression that was. Wasn't a huge fan of the rearrangement when I first heard it, but it really fits when you're actually fighting him, especially the extra parts they added like the one at 1:30. I'm a new player that started the game 2-3 weeks ago when a friend gifted it to me so that we could play together. First time I saw the Great Pickle while playing with my friend, I didn't need her to tell me to flee. The music alone made me RUN AWAY FROM THAT UGLY, TERRIFYING PICKLE THAT IS RIGHT THERE DEMOLISHING ANJANATH Then I saw him eat the Uragaan corpse we just finished looting and I was like "He... Can do that ??" Then I saw him pick the Great Girros I was hunting, and leave with it still alive in its mouth and I was "wait, he CAN do that???" Then again, I saw him pick up a Tobi Kadashi and SMASH Anjanath with it and I screamed "Wait he CAN DO THAT too?" while hiding in the bushes nearby. And, finally, while hunting a Lavasioth, I watched in horror as he jumped on our target while my friend was still fighting the lava-fish... My friend assured me she was fine, she knews Jho quite well and could handle him, she bragged. Then I saw Jho take her in its maw and He ate her. And KO'd her. And yes, I once agained asked if he REALLY could do that TOO?? It was both terrifiyng and hillarious.

I've been commenting on another video about this, so I'll briefly share my thoughts here: change in orchestra, instruments, and/or tuning; better live recordings; and refurbishing the music with World's internal themes as well as Tri's. the tuning I found out today via experimenting with the overall pitch of the track, and found it's about 5 centigrade above what most people know is a normal A for tuning, or A445.

I love how in mhw they made this bastard impossible to escape. He will follow you as far as you go. Cross a gap, he’ll leap. Hide behind another monster, he’ll destroy it and beat you with its corpse. It’s like every time they bring the pickle back, they make him even more frightening.

Mine when First trying to find him was in Rottenvale Exp. He had Odogodon in his mouth. I was like "HOLY FAK!!!" Stuff of nightmares.

Yeah for me an Odogaron and Radobaan all came up into that top area along with the Jho, Odogaron thought he could start shit with ol Pickleboi but got flung around like a fucking ragdoll and Radobaan was like 'Oh fuck i ain't having any of this shit, peace' and rolled away like a bitch.

First time I saw this guy, it couldn't have been mote impactful. So, my first encounter with Bazel was insane. The music changes, the sheer size of the thing, everything made me think this guy was "The Boss". Well, once I was in Ancient Forest hunting for a Bazel when suddenly pickle boy showed up, had a turf war with Bagel and absolutely annihilated it. That moment I realized that Deviljho was "The Boss".

I encountered him on an expedition to Elders Recess. I had already unlocked all the monsters there so far, so I was confused on why there was a mystery icon. I started putting the pieces together while finding some of his tracks, and then I realized that the pickle was near. I saw him walk out a lava cave with poor Dodogama fighting for dear life in its mouth. Luckily I got him to drop Dodogama. I love this game

Something I really appreciate about Deviljho's theme is that part of The Rite of Spring is in it. You know, the music that Disney put in the background of its "ancient Earth" segment of Fantasia. The one with the monstrous, upright T. rex that tried to eat everything it got close to. To point it out if you don't hear it: 0:28, the repeated, ominous notes, and at 1:40 the little bit played on the brass. This isn't the first time The Rite of Spring has been used for inspiration, though. The theme of the Forest/Hills from the first game, "Roar - Rathalos," is particularly inspired from the segment of The Rite of Spring entitled "Glorification of the Chosen One," which is, incidentally, also the inspiration for the opening strings in One Winged Angel.

The first time I say deviljho was when I was looking for elder dragon prints in the Wildspire Waste. Anjanath arrived and I didn't want to deal with him so I hid. Then derpy derpy dop along came deviljho and sucked out anjanaths soul. And then deviljho nocked me out of the bush.

I was in MH Tri online. Did not know about Deviljho. In Sandy Plains, Quropeco made the most ominous roar I had ever heard. I literally thought to myself "Do High Rank Rathians have a different roar?" Giant dark green monster pops into area. "What on God's earth is that?" I watched in horror as it started breathing Dragon element. Killed us all in less than 1 minute.

Honestly, fought a Deviljho for the first time and... god... it was... scary... but... then I slowly figured something out... that is... his greatest weakness Is being a total idiot. and running. right. at his legs.
