World Record B^) My fastest Alatreon run. After many painful attempts of hoping for the best Monster AI where Alatreon doesn't stay in the air like a bitch, optimal DPS windows, and cycling through Daily Food Skills by saving and returning to the title screen to get Felyne Booster+Weakener, I am very proud to call this one of my best runs. Fatalis is the one I'm going to revisit next.

woah, you did this without Evade Window. superb run dude. Alatreon is so much fun to fight (except when he's flying), i am starting my 'speedrun' aswell. but i'm still a baby with 8'06" on my PB. i hope i can get faster time like you.

you can, i'm sure! :^) it can be really frustrating, but it's just a matter of practice, persistence, and a bit of luck. and yeah, i totally agree. for the things we can't control, like alatreon staying in the air and attack rotations that are bad for dps windows, those are what truly what kill a good run. in some of my attempts, i did the smokebomb tactic to force his descent, but instead, alatreon pinned me down lol. best of luck, friend!

@@guidagennaio not necessarily. you simply need to stay in the smoke bomb long enough to trigger alatreon's search animation and stay inside till the outline on your mini-map turns purple. once you achieve this, make sure to have slinger ammo on you and shoot alatreon to force him down. i've done it in a previous run if you want to check it out :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXW1qKaIj9F7qsU

Goddamn, i can't wait until i get to this point, awesome run man. I've faught Alatreon solo and failed a few time using CB, DBs are better for the fight i presume?

thanks very much! i appreciate it :) not necessarily. it's all about capitalizing dps windows with the right attacks of whatever weapon you're using. DBs are mobile, but are very high risk, high reward, that's why you don't see me spamming blade dance cuz i'd get punished because of the animation lock. instead, i just do normal attacks to get the KO and then go ham on alatreon's head. hmm, as for CB, i'm no expert, but i say just use your best combos when alatreon is down (the spinning axe move)

@@HaseoSpeedruns I've seen other speed runs using CB, mainly using demon axe mode as it is extremely good for KOs, elemental damage, and dps. My best bet for a solo run is analyzing his attack patterns and such. Thanks for the tips :p

Just a question: how can you make it so you always wallbang Alatreon at the beginning? I've lost count of how many times I've reset the quest because it's so inconsistent.

nahh, i've done a bunch of resets too :) it isn't always consistent. i'm pretty sure it's rng. everytime the quest starts, there's a chance that alatreon spawns slightly to the left of the rock so he's not always aligned for a flinch shot/wallbang- and it doesn't help when he opens up with the AOE lightning attack instead of the charged one :\

does weakener even work on alatreon? i thought the hard monsters were not affected - am i wrong?

It does, each monster including alat and fatty have different ranges of health, weakener just gives a chance at the lowest health pool they can start with

@@Beaslu i am aware of how it works, it's just that to my knowledge ala, fatalis and safi were not having random health. but maybe i am wrong on this - pretty sure i read it multiple times online and those ppl may have been wrong

i have almost 2.2k hours of total playtime lol, but if u're asking about the master and hunter rank, it takes a while, but definitely not 2k+ hours, especially if you only farm for xp

@@fiqriered1407 not necessarily. if you mean the swipe while i was doing blade dance, that was honestly just lucky lol. i was closer to alatreon's chest which made the hit miss. it's weird, cuz there are times when the swipe attack does land. the hitbox for alatreon's attacks can be inconsistent. if i got hit there, i would've ended the run and tried again, but i capitalized on the lucky miss lol

@@fiqriered1407 no, i do, but this set mathematically does slightly more damage than my kjarr+safi set with agitator active. besides, i'm personally not a big fan of running resentment lol- doesn't go well with my playstyle since i like having the option to sheathe my weapon.
