@callmehypee14367 жыл бұрын
The Bow Sniper can you explain to me what is g rank?
@arachbae47777 жыл бұрын
Call me Hypee in almost every other monster hunter. They usually follow a pattern. The first game comes out them the "ultimate version" 2 years later with g rank and new monsters. All monsters get a strength upgrade along with health. Armor and weapons get higher damage and new visuals and usually there are some monsters exclusive to g rank. This game is most likely gonna have an update to add g rank over selling it as a new game
@aaa119477 жыл бұрын
In some other monster hunter games after high rank there was g rank, which is really similar to high rank in concept. You figth against the same monsters , but they are a lot harder, g rank was the real challenge. Same as high rank, you can create new armors and weapons. Usually g rank also introduced some new monsters. Sorry for any mistakes, english isn´t my first lenguage
@jtribb897 жыл бұрын
Call me Hypee in nutshell g rank is endgame of endgame
@Ocean5ix7 жыл бұрын
If it's really harder is debatable... Usually it's harder when you get to G Rank because you're in High Rank armor but once you equip yourself with g rank armor it becomes "scaled" to the difficulty. G Rank adds more content and more customization in terms of skills. I'll make a comparison so that you can understand more easily. It's possible and even probable that these Tempered monsters that are in the game are actually harder than a regular G-Rank monster because you're in high rank armor fighting a monster that's basically stronger than high rank. BUT of course they also add these high tier monsters (tempered) to G Rank to so these are the real challange.

USEFUL TIPS: If anyone is having trouble with the double Bazelgeuze quest "Beyond the Blasting Scales" try hit and run tacticts. They tend to drop the explosive acrons all over the place, even when not doing moves that normally drop them. This means that weapons that need to stick around to do damage (Sword and shield, dual blades, hammer) are not so effective and usually will get you killed. Lastly if the two monsters are in the same area stick around and let them fight each other. They do MASSIVE damage against each other. Even when they're not actively trying to kill each other they still hit one another with a whole lot of attacks. PS: I main dual blades and failed twice. Tried the greatsword with the hit and run tactics and aced the quest without dying once. Also i have noticed that for all elder dragons and also tempered monsters they do not wait until you get up to recover from a hit. Learn their movement patterns and stay laying on the ground after a hit to see what he will do next. Often times they immediately follow up with a slam attack which will kill you right after you get up. If you stay down for a second longer you will survive. Lastly for elder dragons; once they have spotted you the first time at the start of the quest they will usually instantly charge you when you enter the area even when you cant see them yet. This doesnt happen every time but be ready for it. Hope it helps!!

Really? I might be late on this but Dual Blades are actually pretty effective on this. If Bazel goes to the area above Diablos' lair, there's a lot of steep hills where you can do the roll across his back. For me, once i did that, Bazel could not move. I did the move about 6 times and they died. But to be fair, they did attack each other for like 10 minutes lol

And *I* have actually been a hunter since MH1, but if you stay here for long enough I’m sure you’ll start to recognize old MH players from new ones. xD Especially since (thank god) there’s close to no footage of MH1 in youtube, so only true MH1 hunters know what the game was like. Tempered Monsters seems like a nice evolution of the deviant system. I hope they expand on this or similar systems instead of just adding G-rank
@Hydraclone7 жыл бұрын
Why not both?
@marcofunke36077 жыл бұрын
I would say, it's a watered down deviant system. :/ These monsters don't have anything special, except looking shiny and hitting harder.
@LeGoooze7 жыл бұрын
Marco Funke Yes, it is not as good as the Deviant system from X or XX, however the principle is similar, you fight stronger versions of a monster you have fought. If the tempered monsters moved like their G-rank counterparts but had the same HP and around the same defense values but just hit for a lot more it could be the best kind of endgame. In particular I don't like G-rank simply because it makes High rank pointless for the most part. Low rank should be your introductory rank, where it slowly but surely gives teaches you how to play without punishing you a lot for your mistakes. When you reach High rank then the real game begins, since it is assumed you have a pretty well understanding of the mechanics of the weapon(s) you use and the monsters you fight so you can now star to master both and the endgame should challenge that mastery of yours. While it can be argued that G-rank is that rank, the one which challenges your mastery of the game, which it is to some extent, it just makes high-rank kind of pointless because it makes all the high-rank stuff useless for the most part. Don't get me wrong, I love what G-rank bring to the table in terms of challenge, but it add unnecesary complexity in terms of feature creep. If they can add a system like tempered monsters but adding stuff that G-rank has (More punishing, new moves) as the end game of high rank then that would be the best. I hope that they tinker more with thing like this for future games.
@EXDC7 жыл бұрын
It's kinda more like the hyper monsters rather than the deviants
@badasstoad94197 жыл бұрын
Marco Funke That’s exactly why Tempered Monsters are better, imo. lol Plus they don’t have that ANNOYING Deviant monster theme that plays for every single f*cking deviant monster! xD You get sick of hearing it after maxing out one or two deviant armors. lol The deviants system also killed the superb design of the monsters those deviants are based on.. We’d always go like “Why hunt nargacuga, when silverwind nargacuga is stronger and doesn’t die as fast?” I always prefered the regular versions of these monsters by a miiiiile. And tempered monsters fix that problem. In fact, another good thing about this system is that EVERY monster in the game can be Tempered! (Except Zorah and Xeno’jiiva) And it doesn’t look as shit as the hyper ones in MHGen.

@TheDexecutioner7 жыл бұрын
TaurusTheKing 72 this is just something I heard (not sure if true or not) but I read something that suggested the elder dragons in this game don’t just stop being pissed off after a while like every other monster. Instead you have to build up a threshold of elderseal damage to effectively knock them back into their easier phase
@sangheilicommander10567 жыл бұрын
Think of it when a elder dragon rages or goes super form depending on the dragon it calms them down. For example if kirin does his little supee saiyan thing u can turn it off

Back in mh2 you needed to poison elder dragons to suppress their gimmick aura, I guess this is just the new way to beat their auras

Elderseal is something that is used against elder dragons. It seals ED gimmicks like Kushala Daora's black wind barrier and Teostra's flame barrier or Vaal Hazak's Effluvium ( it will lower the effluvium to a cerain extent) while also keeping them out of their rage like state with the bonus of being able to effectively stagger and elder dragon and (probably) gives bonus damage

@mongrelshadow147 жыл бұрын
holy fuck this game has so much. Also i'd appreciate a video on armor at some point. like how defense works and the numbers on armor like say one armor piece has -3 against fire. etc. i'm totally clueless about that despite hitting high rank this morning.
@sergeinohomo81717 жыл бұрын
mongrelshadow14 basically, the numbers show how strong or weak that armor is against the elements, like if it has fire -1, then it blocks a bit less damage from fire attacks, and if it's +1 to fire, then it blocks a bit more fire damage. The bigger the number, the more/less the armor does, which applies to all elements, and defense just blocks physical damage
@mongrelshadow147 жыл бұрын
I kind of figured. it's just I didn't really feel much of a difference. though I was in low rank mode till just this morning. Defense as a general stat seems like the first defense to everything. and the other stats barring the status ones are minor defense stats. I'm wondering really how important elemental defense is. Since my friends went back to being tanky ish all around once they got a high end set. I was just curious if the elemental defense had some hidden effect like reducing the time you burn from being set on fire. or what not. Basically i'm just curious how much I should worry about those other stats. as you can even take say a water bow against the only water boss and still do good damage.

mongrelshadow14 don't underestimate elemental resistances, especially against elder dragons or monsters that use alot of elemental attack, having too much negative resistance to an element can get you oneshot. Also having high res to an element also blocks that elements blight, like if you get hit by fire but have over 25 fire res you won't burn.

good to know! thanks~

Take this into consideration. Defense is you taking normal attack damage. From maybe a swipe/bite etc. When it comes to elemental attacks it's based more so on your elemental resistances. Same as for the monsters. If you're all tanked up but have a negative defense to fire, then hunt a fire breathing dragon. It will always do extra damage with fire regardless of your actual defense. Something to think about when hunting monsters. Same as having a high atk no element sword vs a lower atk high element sword. I would always choose the latter if the monster I'm hunting is weak to it.

I ended up having to solo the tempered bazels, because no one responded to my SoS. It wasn't too hard either. I just made sure to keep one between the other while fighting them at the same time. They ended up killing each other most of the way on their own and I just engaged them when they were weakened.

Twas funny. I was HR 14 or whatever at the end of the story and when it uncapped me I went to HR 29. Then when I did the two Bazels quest I went from 29 to either 48 or 49, I'm forgetting right now. Either way I was given the Kirin quest right after that. Went and finished that up too. Now I just need to find one of those augment stones.

POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT I'm a little disappointed from the description of tempered monsters in the video. I was expecting him to explain the origin of tempered monster and what they can evolve into as a result of Gore Magala. But in my understanding tempered monsters are a reintroduction to mhw without much in depth explanations without previous knowledge of past games. As Arekkz said there's is little information of them... So here you go. Tempered monsters originated from a monster being under the effect of Gore Magala. Magala is a blind monster but uses it's very sensitive feelers on its head to locate surrounding object. However to engace it's own "sight", it will release pollen-like scales. Should a monster happen to come into contact with these scales they will contract the Frenzy Virus. From contraction they gain a discoloration of darp purple all over their bodies. In addition to this they gain an increase in speed in strength, but through aggression and short temperedness. Other notable features include the harsh in sound vocalizations of a monster with dark purple smoke that is exhaled by the infected monster. Recently there has been a picture of a variety of monsters from previous generations with some mhw monsters that hint towards the reintroduction of many monsters such as Zinogre, Tigrex, Lagiacrus, and Gore Magala among others. Should ths rumor of these monsters to be introduced in the upcoming DLC then this could be the very explanation of tempered monsters itself. But there's more... if this is true, then we will have a wave of new monster but with a slight variation. To explain we must look at the Frenzy Virus again. This virus unfortunately is very fatal, to monsters that is. If a monster were to be infected with this they will receive all attribute detailed above but at the most extreme draw back, death. However not all will die. Some can even survive and should the case arrive they will be referred to an Apex state. While a monster is under such effect it will be able to fully control the virus thus weaponizing it(if an Apex monster attacks another monster or hunter it may leave a pool of the virus to spread further). But in addition to this biological warfare the gain even mors ferocity;faster, stronger, and hard defences. Without the effects of specialized tools they will receive 80% less damage from all attacks and even be immune to traps. But aside from their strength differences they appear almost the same as regular monsters afflicted with the virus such as red eyes, smoke breath, and discoloration. But what sets them apart in appearance is a dark colored mist surrounding their bodies, and when they roar there will be a massive distortion in their vocalization. Well that's most of the info to my knowledge with some research dont on it from the wiki. But this is all really a possible explanation should Capcom decides to proceed with it.

1) Is it possible to find a quest where you hunt a tempered monster AND a regular version (non tempered) of another (or same) monster? Like, tempered Azure Rathalos and regular non-temp Rath 2) Do they have any visual difference? Like, some kind of coloration or something. For example Hypers in MHGen had that black thing on their bodies and when you choose a quest you can see 8 yellow spikes around the miniature. 3) Since the HP is the same, is there any reason to NOT fight a tempered version when you have it unlocked? Why fighting regular monsters when you get the same drop, in the same time (same HP), AND additional rare drops (augment stuff).

Tempered Kirin was the first real wall for me. I was forced to make a full thunder-res set and Azure Rathalos gunlance to beat that thing -_- AND it could 1 shot me if I got stunned and he manage to string 3-4 attack chain. But I did manage to beat it solo. ps. no guard skill, I dodged all big lighting damage he had. It took me, in total, 3 tries. Two with my regular gear, and the one that I finally manage with proper gear

Hey man you should check out the secret plants and stuff you pick up while out and about. They really jack up your health bonus. The chef meal now makes it so a tempered can't 1 shot me anymore. Also black Diablo is op! Dude 1 shot me by landing on me.

The endgame grind looks like it's gonna be very tedious. I just got to HR50 and did tempered Teo and still rewards give you lame decorations, so I assume the point is to reroll with them. The amount you need to roll for others far outweighs what you get per quest and I'm dreading how long and unsatisfying it's gonna be, especially when you have to go out and magically find the tempered investigations you want.

Tempered Bazelgueses, Kirin, Legiana, Anje (only one not solo), Azure Rathalos. Solo, pretty easy. I don't recommend them in SOS. People tend to faint. A lot. I tried the tempered Kirin in SOS 4-5 times, only to have people faint and fail the quest. Finished it in under 15 minutes solo with no faints.

So what's the best way to farm tempered investigations? Going on expeditions and gathering tracks?
@MrDragon016 жыл бұрын
You went into the categories and how to unlock the ability to obtain tempered hunts, but you didn't exactly go into how to get certain monsters. For example, I slayed Tempered Kirin, but I haven't obtained any investigations for a tempered Elder Dragon yet. What would I need to do to get these specifically? Would I need to run around the Elder Recess looking for tracks for a chance to unlock one?
