Went to monster jam twice one in Greenville South Carolina and other time in Asheville North Carolina and that time I got sick off of the truck fumes. So I told myself I'm not going back until I can find one that is done outside. They sure in hell a lot of fun to go to though. Gravedigger is my favorite even though I like them all. Love all the high jumps and flips

I was at that show. That thing is legitimately quick. It was out running the methanol trucks during racing. It's not the first diesel monster truck that was rolling thunder in the 80s but that thing had a 2 stroke Detroit diesel and was slow even by the standard of the era. Watching this thing launch off the line at boost was impressive.

If you ever want to go to one of these, go to the monster jam finals. They tour the whole US, and probably Europe and have to make the trucks last a bit longer. The finals everyone goes for broke. I went to the 2010 finals in Vegas, Max D and Grave digger had about 8 trucks each and wrecked them all in freestyle.

Not saying the new trucks aren't cool and really impressive (including their drivers) but I really miss the days of the old trucks that had an actual body, nice paint job and an actual door to get in and out of the thing. You could tell if it was a ford Chevy or Dodge etc and they didn't have all the silly gimmicks of today. I'd like to see the old trucks pushed to the limit with the safety seat and harness system of today to keep the driver's bodies intact...maybe we'd still see Rod Litzau running against Dennis Anderson.
