I am perfectly fine with DLC trucks being unlocked right away, for three reasons, it's a great way for people who are checking out this game for the first time, they can jump in without having to unlock trucks to experience the core content, and it's also a great way for reviewers to get out their first impressions, plus in my personal experience I find it's an awesome way to introduce me to a racing game before unlocking other vehicles the game has to offer, Bugbear did the same thing with Wreckfest and in my personal opinion it is the best way to handle DLC content, amazing video! :)

I've got a video coming out tomorrow going over exactly this! But red events are racing, blue events are stunt, and green are short. It's not explained well in the game...

Really wish Milestone would've reconsidered the World Finals thing. We went from 2 World Finals tracks(Vegas and Orlando) in Steel Titans 2 to none in Showdown. They could've easily done a mockup of Sam Boyd Stadium to have a stadium event layout and also done the outdoor racing like how Path of Destruction was where you go in and out of the stadiums. Then just keep the Showdown Encore as just a bonus event for 100% the game. Also disappointed that DLC trucks and liveries don't have unlocks, as this could make the Aloha Expansion somewhat pointless to play through. El Toro Loco Black not being considered for change despite fans voicing complaints about the tires is also concerning me about Milestone as a company. Great coverage as always!

Thank you for your always detailed comments Mikey! I'm with you on the WF thing... I don't know why Milestone wouldn't include it, other than a gross misunderstanding of Monster Jam events, or FELD themselves misunderstanding what fans want in a Monster Jam game. You hit the nail on the head with my concern about the DLC trucks. Maybe they'll make an exception with the Aloha expansion and have some unlock requirements there, because like you said, it would make the whole expansion kind of pointless if all the rewards were just gifted to you.

Awesome video! I hope they add nitro and neon trucks when the game releases, I would like to see those, since right now we got fire and ice, gears and galaxies and zombie vs hunters that are coming in the DLC'S. Also im super exicted to get kraken and mohawk warrior when I get the game. Hopefully the physics improve over time before the game releases because right now they are just like steel titans, the trucks float like they are in space, multiple backflips mid-air, I get it's an arcade game but I would really like for them to work on the physics to make them a little better. Btw Milestone should fix the camera while moonwalking, it could mess up your concentration while doing it. The game isnt release yet so milestone still has time to fix those kind of stuff. Showdown is looking pretty good as of right now, I already pre-ordered the game, now waiting for it to release! Thank you for showing more about the game, also one more thing I want is for miilestone to add a all-star challenge track or a superstar challenge track, or even both. The wait is not much longer, Less than a month for the game! The graphics are much better than any other game for sure. Also I have no problem for the trucks being a little wide. Ha ha! I made it to the bottom! :-D I'm really hoping they're working on the physics and the jerky camera, but unfortunately I think the floaty physics are a design choice they're sticking with. I also don't think they're going to add any more tracks, though I'd love to see stuff like you mentioned in the future for sure.

That's not Milestone, that's FELD! I think there are a lot of decisions made for this game that are FELDs and not necessarily Milestone's fault.

Dennis Anderson's name being removed from Grave Digger is another point of disrespect. The only reason I can think there is the existence of King Sling, specifically the three-seated monster truck that Mike Harper and Jim Creten own with Dennis driving it.

If you look at the ride series milestone is 100% capable of making an extremely realistic racing sim, feld is holding them back so hard on this game.

I don't know if you already answered this question in your previous videos. But If you were to purchase a physical copy of the base game of Showdown, would you still be able to upgrade to the Big Air edition afterwards?

You won't be able to upgrade to big Air edition, but you will be able to buy the season pass which is essentially the same thing. All you'll miss out on is the pre-order bonus, which is the odd couple DLC (backwards Bob and big kahuna) which you'll be able to buy in October it looks like

I've figured out why Avenger looks odd on its chassis it's because the model of the chassis in the game is based on one of the older team scream chassis not a crc

Lately I been seeing this game pop up on my KZbin algorithm. I see a lot of “monster jam community” as I will say complaining and itching because it’s not realistic or real life physics. Milestone is making this game for kids and teenagers. For all you over aged individuals complaining go take your money, you make from your job and go to your nearest micro center or go online to Newegg and buy the required pc parts and build your own PC so you can run the real life physics game of beam ng. If you don’t know how to build a pc it’s plenty of creators like jayztwocents, bitwit, tech source. So if you made it this far in the comment and having inner rage guess what this is the internet so get over it. It’s a video game made for kids and teenagers not us grown azz men and women who are 30+

LOL wow that's quite the comment! As far as the physics go, the version of the game in this video is an early build and I think most of the community is hoping that they will improve the obviously broken mechanics demonstrated. It's not so much the theming and unrealistic nature of the physics, it's just that it's completely broken and not functional in its current state. As for the theming though, I will say that I don't think that this game is "only" meant for kids any more than Mario is "only" meant for kids. Though Monster Jam as a whole seems to be focusing their marketing in recent years on a younger audience, I don't really think that's the issue here. I think old or young, fans are just hoping for something fun, fully developed, and representative of what a real monster jam event would be like, and unfortunately I don't think we're quite there yet.
