Wreckfest has more than a monster truck and much better driving and damage FX.. this game here is for kids about 8 years old.. and GTA5 has some great Monster truck mods..

I feel like the time of realistic racers is slowing down because these arcadey games are cheaper to make and often get a pass for being simple just because it is arcade fun.

I like the fact that there is difficulty keeping the truck from flipping over. That is what adds difficulty and fun to the game. And also adds a risk and reward aspect.

When you mentioned the truck selection, ones like Higher Education and Backwards Bob. You do know those are real life monster trucks, right? Sure, the developers chose to license those to appeal to the kids, but they are real. Higher Education was run by Vaters Motorsports, who have been running the Black Stallion truck since the 80's. I understand what you were trying to get at, but these are actual real competition trucks.

Sounds like your just bad at the game. "Backlflip being the most exotic move" come on there's not a HUGE variety of moves that a 15,000 pound truck can do but they've evolved over the last 10 yrs from jsut simple flips. If you actually Watch monster jam you know there's more technical moves to do. If you want the arcade feel play the first one. They took feedback and made this one half arcade half Sim. You just can't please anyone these days..ima still definitely getting this and playing it.

pros: 1) game fixes some issues like lame pay-to-upgrade are changed with a level up system that allows the player to use a monster truck he likes to get more experience 2) it haves more independent trucks than the first game 3) each monster truck gets a spot in their world that allows them to interact, a good evolution from the first game's Alien Invasion easter egg 4) every original DLC related trucks makes a comeback for free (like the golden trucks) cons: 1) very wonky gameplay that was also in the first game (sluggish and hard to manage) 2) leveling system force people to use one monster truck to be able to compete in races (this goes with truck emblems as well) final vote: 8/10 fixes some of the problems but still not that good

I give it 5/10. Got it for the kids who know the trucks and enjoy it. I try not to let my frustration with the physics, AI and lack of quality control tarnish their experience. Floating environment assets. Every truck handles the same. Lack of progression other than "race all the events in order". Poorly defined track bounds in the world circuit events so you randomly get reset taking a corner too wide. AI that follow a predefined path that you can't nudge, ram, or affect in any way. The events where half the trucks race the circuit in the opposite direction are complete luck if you come round a corner and meet an AI head on. You'll both stop dead and the AI immediately respawns ahead and takes off. Or if you hit one from behind because you have more speed? You instantly decelerate to their speed and get stuck behind them while they keep driving. On the narrow tracks of the final world it becomes truly frustrating.

The game provides good controls and I die for the engine sounds it sounds amazing and I love the stadium set ups it all feels so alive. The game could do a little better with the whole freeroam aspect where you go into a fictional world where certain trucks act as keys to unlock things but ngl this game has serious potential but Steel Titans 2 overall is not a bad game but maybe some updates and more work by devs could bring it to what we dream of it becoming

Did they make this game so that a 2nd player can use player 1's unlocked trucks for split screen? Or is it like the first game where you only could use unlocked trucks on the profile you unlocked them with?

Im a year late but yes, you can only use unlocked trucks on the account used to unlock them

It's really fun. The devs have already released 2 update patches on PC so the few issues it has can be patched.
