TheShermanTanker I’m noticing that I’m starting to sound like an edge lord, bare with me for a minute; Nothing is ensuring you or the smallest microbes that they will still be around. Life is only going to exist for a small fraction of time the universe would have before it ends (or restarts, depends on the theory) even in most religions, all things will die eventually and become something more. There are no “principles of life”. Life and nature are also two different concepts, life is abstract and can’t really be defined, nature is observable. Life is a state of existence while nature is reality itself. Staying away from philosophy, nature also isn’t offering any endurance of survival or that anything needs or has to live: plenty of planets are too hostile to have life, genetic disorders and viruses also add to the non-living threats ignoring the sheer destructive power that happens because of weather or in space (apparently stars can have stray beams that evaporate entire planets instantly at random). You don’t really get much of a reward outside of what you make for living. If we accept evolution as the main “principle of life”; you are supposed to defy nature by adapting to it, it’s not going to make things easy since even the blade of grass is also evolving ways to keep itself from being consumed, which also means evolving ways to keep you from eating it which can be as small as lucky nutrients or having a powerful toxin that can burn holes in you bare skin, the nature of the universe would keep on going and tends to “favor” barrenness from what we see as of now (seeing as to how rare something habitable like Earth is).
