During the memorial service for my fiance that died a few years ago, this loud thunderstorm hit and it poured down a hard rain, lightening & thunder everywhere. I was pulling out of this parking lot and this huge hawk flew straight at my windshield and up over my car... this song came on the radio at the exact same moment. So, if the added reverb effect was gone, I would say it's ultimately inconsequential. So he says the f word instead of mother. Sure when I was 10-14 I would say that is better. Now? Meh...who cares. The added reverb though, in my opinion, ruins it and makes the uncensored actually SOUND better. But to each their own of course.

Considering the uncensored version *just* got surfaced not to long ago, and the fact it was never released beforehand means radio stations wouldn't have it had the uncensored version too play...... not to mention one of the biggest sins in radio broadcasting is letting "mother fucker" air, and any station and DJ that lets it happen (regular, college or high-school racio) gets a ridiculously large fee. So im going to call bullshit on your little story.
@NeoHiPPy19803 жыл бұрын
@@JackTheripper911 I remember hearing the uncensored version first, too. This song first surfaced in the late 90's, before the Janet Jackson Superbowl incident and the subsequent FCC crackdown. Stations used to get away with some stuff before then, but only if they were careful. Depending on where you lived, it wasn't uncommon to hear uncensored tunes in the 9PM-4AM hours, as the few, more lax stations (without strict program directors) would know they're not being scanned/audited by the FCC. It's weird though, because I heard the uncensored one first, so the censored one always sounded weird to me. Having never found the uncensored version, I assumed that I was crazy or victim of a Mandela Effect. Now I know that I'm crazy, but at least I remember this right! 🤣 As for the uncensored version resurfacing, I wonder if the station that I heard play it had some sort of "in" with the band or the studio (I lived in SoCal, at the time), and they later had to change to the official version... 🤔
@ropfeg2 жыл бұрын
@@NeoHiPPy1980 I never heard the uncensored version of this, but I definitely remember hearing other songs being uncensored on the radio sometime after 9:00 or 10:00pm. It was in the mid to late 90's when I was in high school on 107.5 wzzq in terre haute, indiana. Two songs that distinctly stand out in my memory hearing on there were Radiohead's Creep and Tool's Ænema. Both of those songs are pretty liberal with the f-word.

Taken from Songfacts: This song was written as payback for some teasing that frontman Dave Wyndorf endured. He explained to Kerrang: "I'd hurt my knee, and had time off, so spent it in a dominatrix's apartment in New Orleans. Our record company forwarded me press from Europe and in Germany they called me 'Space Lord'. She saw it and took the piss, saying 'So you think you're the space lord?' I said, 'Someday when I can walk. I'll make you pay for taunting me by writing a song.'"

My ex, Angie, stripped at a bar called "The Booby Trap" in Detroit, when this tune was first released to radio. She was ALWAYS known for being home by 3AM, but one morning she didn't get in until 7AM. The first thing I noticed was her wearing a Monster Magnet T-shirt. Now, this was b4 cell phones, but she could've called me from the bar to our landline to let me know what was going on, though she didn't. She told me that the entire band had been there; they asked if she could get two 8 balls of powder for them. She did, then said they asked if they could all pile in her pos Cordoba and get a ride back to their hotel. I asked her how many of the band members she did. She acted like I was out of my mind for not believing a word she said. But this is what pissed me off even more: They were looking for a third guitarist. I was opening for Type O Negative and a lot of major bands during that time who were coming through Detroit, I had hair to my ass, as I still do, I was 23 years old, I was a great rhythm/lead player and truly believed I would've fit what they were looking for. Another chick showed up at the hotel as well. She said that chick did the majority of the band, but she did nothing. Anyway, I made a point of telling her that the T-shirt they gave her should've read: 'I blew the band - and all I got was this lousy T-shirt!' Needless to say, we had a pretty colorful domestic, and when she got in the shower (yikes!), I left without her knowing. She made two attempts to contact me - but I never answered or saw her again. Thankfully, we weren't moved in together. I don't resent any of the cats from Monster Magnet - I would've stuffed their girlfriends, too. Thanks for reading my book; lol!
