We went offshore out of Marco Island, Florida with our buddy Capt Tanner of reel deal fishing charters. Our goal was to catch big mangrove snapper, yellowtail snapper and Florida permit! We got all three while wreck fishing in the gulf of mexico.

What a beautiful day on the water. You are truly blessed to have the opportunity to do what you do. I watched this video in the morning and still wanted to eat the meal you prepared. As always you do an amazing job of preparing your meals. I love that you share this part of your life with us. Great video and keep it coming.

I never serve fish with that bloodline in it. It's super easy to cut it out with a filet knife. I know it was just a small mistake here but it can ruin a fish dinner. It does not taste good LOL! I did enjoy the video. I've never been ocean fishing, I have a bucket list with only one thing in it and that's to take a guided ocean fishing trip. I can afford it, but I have neuropathy in my back and feet so it's pretty difficult to move around. But, someday I'm going to take my son (Navy man for 12 years now) on a fishing trip someday soon, no matter how painful it'll be. I love these videos and I'm binge watching all of them! Victor looks to be a really good chef and I enjoy the different recipes.

Vic, I'm surprised you guys are not bleeding out your mangroves. It makes a significant difference for gag grouper, red grouper, and mangrove snapper, not just tunas and mackerel! An easy method that takes no time at all to do, so you can concentrate on getting lines back in the water when the bite is on: Fill a 5 gallon bucket around 2/3 full of salt water. When you pull the mangrove up and de hook him, cut his throat out to let them bleed out, and place them in the bucket for about 4-5 minutes. After that, toss em in the ice box / slurry / kill bag, and you'll be good to go...

The snappers might be doing like the barracudas and eating juvenile tangs and getting the black spots from the tangs. I think it’s some parasite that the tangs and some of the shellfish get around structures.

The black spots on the fish are tiny Paravortex turbellaria flatworms (Phylum Platyhelminthes) embedded in the skin of the fish.

Subscriber to Ryan's, Brooke's, and your channel. I enjoy them all. Those spots are either melanin pigment or parasites (tubilarian) worms. The only way to tell is under a microscope. I suspect it is the latter only because I've never noticed spots on mangroves before. Would be interesting to investigate.
