Wow! I am one of those rinky dinky boat owners , I have a motorized 14 foot kayak that I have been working on and try to break into the professional tournament circuit! I am legally blind and on a limited budget and put my heart and soul into what I've dreamed to do but you just shattered everything I thought about you guys! Who I've been watching for years! Thanks alot

It’s not about boat size it’s about experience or more so commitment. If you watch this and still go out with Walmart rods trying to catch 100lb tarpon you’re just not listening. That’s more what he means. I fished a kayak. Out to 120’ line and caught it all. You’re taking something wrong.

You’re right about that.

But I’ve caught 30 plus lb king fish out of my kayak many times. Cobia. Grouper. Tarpon. And wahoo. It’s got a 7 gallon bucket I put on the front. A pump that pulls water from under and pumps into bucket that’s got holes only on one side on a little 12v lawn mower battery. And cheap fish finder. When I get to 120 I put bucket in water and anchor with a sliding weight grapple anchor I made. And throw a dredge 3’ behind the kayak. And if you put out a big mullet with a grouper rig at 100’. Another at 60’ and two on top 20’ and 100’ back. you’ll catch fish, every. Single. Time. I dunno what I don’t get. Maybe cause he told you he has a 400,000$ boat. But you can catch fish off a kayak. Lots of fish.

@@MrT13Not about boat size? Ok, try going 60 miles offshore in 20 mph hours winds in a 14 foot kayak. Let’s see this. Run 200 miles to the bahamas in a 14 foot kayak. Since it’s not about the boat, go out in 5-7 foot seas with 15 mph winds in your kayak.

Non stop information and great insight. Right to the point. Where were you 30 years ago? Thank you for giving it up. Do frozen dean ballyhoo work at all trolling or drifting? I see them sold at bait stores.

It takes a different kind of dedication to become a pier trolley rig king mackerel fisherman. You can go years of trips to the pier and not hook up.

In Mexico we catch the king with yo zuri crystal minow I don’t think you can beat my record. 48 kings in half day 2 above 40 high speed matters 5 knots

I fish raps and zuri. Just dunno about that many that quick but hey maybe. Commercial boats probably do that way out in great places somewhere. Definitely nobody does that here. My records are more like being able to deep drop for goldens groupers and queens within ft Lauderdale area... High speed for wahoo. Slow troll for everything. Regular troll for everything. Reef/wreck fish for everything. Sand troll for mutton. Inlet catch snook. Hand line Goliath grouper. And being very very consistent at doing it all. Out of a 16’ Carolina skiff. But I just never heard of anyone catching 50 kings by lunch. But hey maybe so. It’s not everyday you see someone out by them self trolling 5-7 rods. Or 3 rods fast and catching wahoo off a little j16 but when you do it’s funny. Especially when I’m in my swivel chair turned around backwards pulling in a wahoo alone. Gaffing it alone. And having a grand ol time in a 3000$ boat bringing home quality fish. Early fast for wahoo. If that don’t work troll. If that don’t work reef and wreck. If that don’t work go for grey tile. If that don’t work go for golden tile or I’ve got 2 good spots for grouper or queen snapper. In that order over never not brought something good home. But definitely never caught 50 kings in a day lol. I’ve caught more than one at a time on one rod though. I do that all the time.
@MrT134 жыл бұрын
Oh and I know how to catch wahoo after 8am too... but here in south Florida there mite only be 50 kings caught all day long by everyone out there fishing per day lol.

So, in tournaments, you're not allowed to chum, unless you call it "chunking", then it's ok. 🙄
