Just Awesome!!!!! The weather may not have been as you would have liked it, but the scenery and autumn colours were to die for!!!! Factor in those beautiful "stripeys" and of course, not forgetting Tam "unleashing the beast" a fish of a lifetime, this upload is right up there with the best. Thanks Nicolas for continuing to thrill us all with your fishing forays. Phil.

That's correct Phil , we played a good game . Good fishing weather with those fish trying to feed before winter . We are always prepared to face a good battle , another good team effort . Even launching was not easy .

Just a bit further up the road Voyager . I like Lomond because it's a selective water not many people fish . Very hard water to fish but there are some crackers in there too . I enjoy big scenic water and the paddling can be great too .

@@NicolasValentinScotland I was there walking last week. The pontoon is all fenced off now. Not sure why.

@@derekmcewen584 Could be a private Pontoon . Pontoons are usually used for boats , that make sense .

You always seem to get onto the pike. Can I ask you about technique? I've tried fishing with the lures but never have much luck for pike, do you fish them hard on the bottom quite slow or is it a straight retrieve? That big one was unbelievable, fish of a life time.
@NicolasValentinScotland4 жыл бұрын
I am really confident when I fish for pike . I always try to find out if they are deep or shallow on the day and seasons , then I concentrate in those area . Sometime it's 50 feet , sometime 3 feet . Next step is I always fish the zone . Most fish will be quite close to the bottom and the weed , they don't really swim about mid water . I don't use a fish finder but always drop my lure and do a count down . In this video the countdown was around 10 second , the time for the lure to hit the bottom . I cast , let the lure sink for 10 second and then slowly retrieve , sometime with some little stop . but the retrieve is always slow making the lure swim . The pike will follow the lure for a length of time and sometime they just nail it . Pike loves to follow lures , they can swim . Most people will cast and straight after retrieve , first mistake . It's always good to catch first during an outing , there is no pressure , you can fish slowly and catch even more fish . People under pressure to catch will fish faster , change lures and so on and waste precious time . Fish the zone at the right speed grant .

@@grant1133 also fish don't always feed . and then they all feed . We had time when no one would catch for 2 hours and then the same minute 3 anglers would catch . in this week tam and I had fish in the same time . The light can change or temperature , when we fish in groups we always want people to catch . Sometime we ledger for perch or roach in the same spot , that activity will attract the pike . If the perch fishing die you know the pike have moved in the spot and it's now time to catch them using lures . Quite interesting .
