After watching your guide and your run down on color pandora which is my first ever monster after i bought mr2 dx on steam carried me and help me win the game recently. Man, even though i only play casually and single player, drug training is so good. Such a big difference. Learning how to keep monster alive and using thoron to boost his attack was such a game changer. My young self barely able to reach S rank, ao thanks

I feel like Henger, Durahan, and Arrowhead should all be a little higher on easy to raise because even new players pretty quickly realize that nuts oil means you don't need to rest as much, but don't really get how important never seeing the stress messages is so the small extra stress reduction they get from the nuts oil means they'll generally get a pretty decent lifespan boost over time

Yeah i think the sub adjustment is kinda hard to take account too in general for this list. Theres some where the base stats difference is so absurd that its worth a mention(Arrowhead cough), and combine influence can be huge in general like how Gaboo could normally have 4/3/3/4 gain with decent base stats eventually resulting in long chains of "this monster can go green/blue" for most breed I kinda love how the complicated bar is almost a list of "chronic substance abusing" mon

I haven’t played this game in like 20 years and recently found it on iOS. My first 2 monsters(hare then tiger) made it to A rank then I did pheonix and destroyed S rank and won 4 of the badges/trophies. Pheonix is sooooo strong heat beam just nukes everyone and flame twister is so consistent for 2-3 hitting enemies.

I think what would have helped this video more giving a quick breakdown on what it means for something to be difficult to raise. The whole game is essentially menus, so difficulty to me sounds like “you need to know very specific steps to make this viable, some of which are counterintuitive” or “you need a lot of resources for this” or “you need good rng for this to work out”. I assume that “difficult to win with” relates to the actual battle mechanics and how its theoretical moves would play out… I think if you clarified that it’d help with understanding the placement more

Blue hair In 2002 me and my sister were able to beat the game with no cheats by maxing out power and speed. Pretty much no monster than can out do a max 1-2 punch. And easy to max life so can take some damage. But max speed is very few monsters in the game that can hit you.

My brothers and I pronounce Kato as Cat-toh, Kay-to makes him sound like a Mortal Kombat character lol - just a random comment, my first one, but long time viewer. Always thought Mocchi and Zuum were the best beginner monsters, trying to recall playing this as a kid, they’re the most uncomplicated monsters, and usually it’s the ones with the low life-defense that turns people off when they get KO’d by Oakleyman lol Their stats make you feel safe, and as casual players, you mostly just get whatever tech and focus on building stats. Also noticed that for the most part, the X-axis is all about techniques, while the Y-axis is about everything else - stats, management, nature, lifespan.

@@Moosebones You can beat the game with any monster playing casual, you can even beat it with a stupid Mock. You seem to take a preference in raw power monsters and strong techs, monsters that will give you results even when they are young, but you can beat the game easily with speedsters, and sometimes to train these kind of monsters is more fun because of the challenge. I raised a draco hopper that was pretty decent. I feel like with the right sub-breed, many of these have a good chance to be much more successful, though beating the game is difficult with a weak monster that has crappy tech, crappy stat gains, terrible gut regen, and a short lifespan/poor life-type... It kind of makes me think that a more nuanced list could include all the factors and isolate the truly best breed/sub or whatever, but who has time for that lol.

I think the issue with new players is baby monsters cant deal with a lot of training without getting tired and stressed, and don't make much stat gains. So they may give up not realising those improve later on. Funnily enough I'm not sure im a fan of cat since for some reason (its RNG and getting hit once killing you and still missing with 90% accuracy)
@Moosebones7 ай бұрын
@@artsyvids2563 the baby thing isn't exactly true, the main downside for babies besides the gains is that sleep only recovers about 80% fatigue and stress of what it does for an adult, but thats barely a noticeable difference for most players.

I strongly disagree about Joker being simple to raise for casual play: for casual players, you can't get more than his basic techs (due due lack of knowledge of nature etc for casual players). And for casual players who don't know details about lifespan and nature, you can end up sending Joker multiple times on errantry and tanking his lifespan. Also, casual players don't know too much about training methods so they can stress out their monsters too.
@Moosebones2 жыл бұрын
Do you *need* to know anything about nature for a monster that starts with -90 nature and only has bad natured techs? Joker is simple because every one of his techs is incredible, hes got great gains and can steamroll the game even if youre drastically underlevelled imo
@hakkbak2 жыл бұрын
@@Moosebones The thing is, _needing_ knowledge of hidden stats (fear, spoil, stress) imo by default make raising a monster innately more difficult, as casual players won't know that those stats exist. When I was a Casual player, I probably had max stress on my monsters because I didn't know the significance of mint leaf or tablets. So you have to assume that casual players don't know about the hidden stats and fall into the mistake of over-praising/not mint-leaving. When I raised my Joker as a casual player it hit the deathbed before 3 years lmao. Not nearly enough prime-time to work with and best those of the likes of Loveless/Drewguard/Rouge. -Joker lifespan isn't forgiving enough for casual players to make big mistakes with. - errantries (with no resulting techs)could also further tank its life, because the Errantry guy gave you hope with "it may be difficult to acquire a new tech here". Yes, Joker has great stat gains. But there's so much you can do with a 2.5year old Joker with basic techs which is already past its prime lol. Compare this with something like Hare: -a basic tech with S % accuracy from the outset -great speed and power gains -no issues with getting better techs Statistically it's probably way easier to savescum an under-statted Hare and get lucky than a Joker.
@hakkbak2 жыл бұрын
@@Moosebones sorry I didn't fully answer your question: I think with Joker it's *necessary*. When I tried it way back as a casual player, I couldn't even get to S rank because there just wasn't enough lifespan and the basic techs weren't enough. Maybe I sucked really bad back then though. Maybe we can try it out sometime
