MONSTER TRAINS OF BNSF: 16K stack train led by Gevo with fouled horn with high speed!

On May 10th at 8:33 in the morning on the emporia sub in Gardner, KS. This is my first video of catching one of these monster stack trains which is nice to see in person by the way. For this train to be so huge it handled the curves very well and maintained that speed it traveled the whole time. These are in the testing phase for BNSF and may just become permanent setups for them if it continues to work well. I like them. What do you guys think about these MONSTER TRAINS OF BNSF? I think your video should be entitled "Longest BNSF train on KZbin." Aside from the UP test train of 2010, that is longest train I have seen on the website. 270 cars. Holy crap!

This is by the way longer than any train I have ever seen. In my life (since 2002), I have 73 trains meet or exceed 200 cars and the longest, a CN intermodal, was 258 cars (my YT profile pic is that train). Oddly, none of these train are BNSF (one CN train however contained a BNSF unit on it), and I have seen a lot of BNSF trains in the Pacific Northwest. Must be a new stragety BNSF is implementing with international stack trains. They need to know do it with their domestic intermodal trains. By the way, this exceeds that monstrous 220 car UP mixed you uploaded.

By the way, I love huge trains and I think BNSF should run huge trains between Chicago and Seattle/Tacome & Portland. They should also do this with their mixed freights on the Transcon.

ABALLAM3 Yeah it exceeds the UP one by a long shot. This is bnsf's new strategy for the foreign container trains. First the 12k trains and now the 16k trains. Hope you are ready because I have another 16k train video coming of the westbound monster train gonna be uploaded in a few hrs.

Nicely captured. I wonder what the fuel consumption in gallons-per-mile of such a big rig as that. Surely a bit less than one of NASA's Saturn big boy's.

I don't know but they could alternate between motors being offline or not.

The rule of thumb works out to roughly trains can move 1 ton of freight 500 miles while using only 1 gallon of diesel fuel
