When I was a kid..13-14. Here in Minnesota had a Paper Route....I awoke at about 5:00 am. And found we had a huge on going ice storm...glaze ice on everything...very...very slippery. I thought about it. Took off my boots....went and put on 3 heavy pairs of socks...and put on my Dad’s golfing shoes..metal spikes. Black n White. Looked funny but it was perfect. Made my route..and still had time to catch the bus for school..which was canceled. So I went back to sleep. My Dad woke up...in the morning and saw the tracks in the ice. And let me sleep. Nobody was going anywhere for awhile. My Dad said.”That’s very clever...and I don’t mind you using my expensive golf shoes...Heck you got more use out of them...then I ever will.” Later...I got good tips from my customers. Back in the late 70’s you had collection books with little receipts...you had to go door to door. They noticed the golf shoe tracks on the icy steps..down the driveways. Reckon some kids are thinking about the same problem.

I've seen worse, but it's weird they're not even mentioning it. The storm I'm taking about STOPPED TRAFFIC .... Barely making it to work (security for FedEx) i got stuck at Newark Airport in that one. Luckily they had an account with a local motel.
