I remember when I was 5 years old (I’m 17 now) I went to the laugh floor with my mom. I was dressed up as Ariel from the boutique so they chose me to put on the screen. Only problem was I was extremely shy so I ran away as fast as I could while everyone went “aww” in the background.

I remember the time my grandpa was "that guy." It was really funny because he's usually quite humorous even though he always has that "I'm done" face. The sad thing was his hearing had gotten pretty bad by that time so he didn't even realize what was going on.

My guess is the main characters like Mike are pre recorded by the original actors. Then for the “acts” they have generic monsters not from the movies so any comedian can voice them. To save money they probably just hire two comedians per show that play all the generic characters. Then they have a bunch of cameras pointed at various audience members so they can use them for all the gags

When we went, Mike’s nephew would insult people in the audience, like some women had bags on that looked like cat seats, and the monster shouted “Who wants to buy a portable seatbelt!” And another one was “Hey, we have a sale! Buy two t-shirts, get a thousand free!” And it cut to about 20 people wearing the same outfit 😂

Charles Francis it's actually similar to turtle talk with crush where they have set animations and the magic is the cast members who are talking live to the audience. They mix up the monsters and animations for each show so that you never get the same performance. It's one of many ways Disney tries to get audience participation in their attractions.
