I’m running Phandelver… to lead right into Phandelver & Below and I’m so excited. Lost Mines is a great intro and the expansion of Phandelver and Below seems to give a lot of my friends who are new to D&D but played BG3 some familiar elements to grab on to with the aberration and underdark themes

As a Sorc player, I can't say I'm all that excited about these Mind Crystals. Considering some people are already of the opinion that there's no point in playing a Sorcerer because of Metamagic Adept, adding a bunch of consumable magic items a DM might let you buy off stores or even recharge is a huge hit to the class identity.

@@codebracker terrible analogy considering only Casters can use scrolls. Also, how do you think the Fighter would feel if everyone was running around with Potions of Action Surge? What about Clerics if everyone had Channel Divinity incense sticks? Or Barbarians when everyone has a spare Toe Stubber of Rage? The Wizard fanbase singlehandedly shut down one of the core changes in the Unearthed Arcanas for the 2024 PHB because some of them got mad they wouldn't be hoarding exclusive access to the Arcane list and they made off like bandits in that UA. You know why? Because class identity matters.

@@M9Seradon i mean a potion of action surge would be absolutely pointless since it takes an action to drink a potion Channel divinity wouldn't make sense since each subclass has a different one, but turn undead could work As for barbarian rage, that's moreso a problem with the class, since rage is so strong that the whole class design revolves entirely around it, so a consumable item that gives rage would have to be very rare or legendary
