This documentary was made a year and six days before I was born. It was about thirteen years after this documentary, I was taken by my grandparents to the opening of a botanical garden, I was by far the youngest person there and somewhat ignorant. Anyways one old guy comes up to me and was asking me a bunch of questions, and we talked for sometime, finally when lunch was called he took me to sit next to him at his table, and I didn't get why my grandparents let it happen instead of making me sit next to them at their table. Anyways this old guy told me a couple of lame dad jokes while we were eating, so not to be out done, I proceeded to quietly tell the old guy the dirtiest joke I knew, complete with swear words, at first he gave me a funny look, but then bellowed out a laugh so loud that everyone stopped eating to stare at us! After the meal a lady took the podium, and announced a great man, a mountaineer, an explorer, a humanitarian, and the former owner of the property of this new botanical gardens, Sir Edmond Hillary. And that's when the old man sitting next to me stood up and walked to the podium!! So yeah, I spent the afternoon with Sir Edmond Hillary! That's him in this documentary at 10:52 the first man to make it to the top of Everest in the himalayan mountains.

A bit of a contradiction going on here. First of all we're told Bigfoot/Sasquatch is a shy creature wanting to stay out of sight of humans (and who can blame him for that?) Yet at other times, as in your account, they throw rocks and stones at people, thus drawing attention to themselves. ??

Yes, they filmed new re-enactments (Bigfoot caught stealing from a fisherman's net, a woman sits in her living room as a giant hairy arm busts through her front window), but best of all was the inclusion of the Patterson film. Getting to see the Sasquatch walking across a huge motion picture screen (instead of a 21 inch tv) was actually quite thrilling.

Dean Larkins, drumdad54 sdl, I can tell you why about that Patterson film situation. This special was first aired on CBS on a Friday night. I remember the ad posted in TV Guide. Unfortunately, stupid 'me' forgot about the special and missed it. ( Boy, was I pissed.) But all was not lost. Several weeks later, CBS repeats the broadcast special on that same Friday night. This time I knew better and made sure not to miss this second chance. It opens with new update footage not seen in its original broadcast,...... the Roger Patterson film. I remembered reading "update" on the upper left side of the TV screen during that moment. Rod Serling made his opening comments on this new footage followed by the opening title. That same Roger Patterson footage was again shown during the Bigfoot/Yeti sequence. This would be the first time I've seen that movie film footage, aside from those still pictures posted in READER'S DIGEST, ARGOSY, and other books or magazines. The next two times I ever saw the Patterson film was on the two movie documentaries, BIGFOOT, MAN OR BEAST? and THE MYSTERIOUS MONSTERS in the movie theaters.( The former was shown in its 20 minute condensed version, contrast to its 90 minute version. ) This special was not aired again for years until Wolper Productions decides to add this as part of its weekly series, " DAVID L. WOLPER presents...", aired on Arts and Entertainment. (This is the version you're watching now!) After watching it, I'm convinced that this is the version originally aired on CBS the first time around, minus the Patterson film, that I missed. Only the rebroadcast version bears the Roger Patterson film.

A few years ago I was camping in an area close to Bigfoot territory in Ohio near Salt Fork State Park. It was late at night and I had a fire going and was sitting by it reading a book and drinking a beer. Around 11:00 p.m. I heard a strange rustling in the trees behind my tent. Then I heard low guttural growls. I stood up, turned around and as I did a huge hairy creature emerged from the woods not more that 25 feet from me. It stood 8 feet tall and had to weigh in excess of 450 pounds. I stood motionless not knowing what to do when the creature began dictating the narrative. It slowly lifted its right hand and pointed to the beer I was holding in my hand. I immediately realized the beast wanted a COLD beer. And why not? It was at least 85 degrees and so humid you could cut the air with a knife. I popped a brewsky and gave it to him and motioned for him to come sit by my fire. He capitulated and as we sat by the fire I lit a cigarette. He instantaneously became agitated and started motioning to my mouth and then to his mouth. Damn, the Dude wanted a smoke. So I lit one for Bfoot and we continued socializing, drinking our beer and having a few smokes. Eventually Bfoot's eyelids began to droop. The beer was making him sleepy. He arose, waved goodbye and walked away, whistling as he disappeared into the woods. I haven't encountered the creature again, but since then I never venture into the woods without my Bud Light and a carton of Marlboros. Hopefully I'll meet the Big Guy again with his wife and children. If so, I hope the kids are at least 21. No way I'm doing time for serving minors. I got a rep to protect.

Has anyone ever camped out with Underwater Gear to go in the water areas right after, at where Nessie has been seen? They just might see it if they do that.

If it was here before humans, then it was not a monster, just an animal. And technically, nothing in this documentary would be classified as a monster, just an animal. So monsters are creations of humans.

These films piqued my interest as child but as I mature and learned about profit motives, I came to realize that film makers would do anything for a buck and some people would tell tall tales to bring attention to themselves. Evidence please!

‘Monster’ is more of a prejudicial term, that’s eventually called a ‘cryptid’ or ‘undiscovered animal’.

Bigfoot don't have a mid tarsal break as verified by legitimate tracks. Since bigfoot isn't an ape or a monkey and is closer to a human, this makes sense.
