My father showed me this song when I was younger, I remember driving past fields of wildgrass and flowers with this song playing on the car radio, because when this song played that's what I imagined, now years have gone by and the grass is dead and the fields are full of trash with fracking sites close to the road, the smell of oil and gas in the air. The memories are there just faded, if I listen now with my eyes closed laying on my bed, I imagine laying on grass with flowers around me. Never forget the good times, do what you can to stay happy, blessed be.

@thebiggamer9910 жыл бұрын
Lewis Ironside The plot of the mourning woman in Little Talks, to me, relates directly to the child being abducted at the end of King and Lionheart. Then, it would mean that the woman that came out of the asteroid in Little Talks is the big sister, and the huge monster in the clouds is her brother, transformed by the evil magic or something(?). This evil magic is why they were hunted. It may be just me, but I think it ties up nicely. Bonus: It has a happy (-ish) ending, too. :D

I feel like their whole album tells a story, I'm missing some of the songs (which could easily be added in) but here what I have so far: the story is being told of 2 children who are trapped in a war zone (dirty paws). They flee the town and later on find strength and happiness in being together (mountain sound). They get captured and separated by the bad guys (king and lion heart). A while later they are both free and reunite in their new forms (little talks).
@arcticdonkey92788 жыл бұрын
I read little talks is about a widow, in which the male voice is the death husband and the female voice is the widow. Listen to it again and you will realise (and probably cry) T_T

I always thought little talks was about about the lady suffering from dementia or another mental condition and the male is her partner hurting deeply seeing her this way but trying to help her through by keeping her calm without showing her what he feels. The old voice holding the lady back is her former self before the disease which is why the guy says tell her we miss little talks. I guess the songs meaning can be subjective but read the lyrics thinking of this for some feels.

For me, this song is about a person who felt they had to run away from their problems ("Trouble I caused with my own 2 hands") and ran and ran and ran until they had to run no more. This person found they actually weren't alone, they had company-- many people were running from problems. So they all run, but in different directions ("We were nothing like the rest"). So they continue running into the mountain sound. For me, the hook implies they've run far away enough, stop running because it's safe now-- you can relax and be at ease, and finally rest.

I just want to be a kid again. I didn’t value it enough. Songs like this would evoke such incredible feelings, ideas, and stories. Now….I just don’t know what’s happened to me. I miss those times
