This is a project for listening to an audio-book, maybe a couple of them. I would be practicing the techniques of scraps for several days before actually starting to try to make it look like wood on the actual pieces. It's a nice build that is fairly inexpensive. Thanks.

You are so funny. Thank you so much for all the tutorials. Had to get a new job during the covid mess and less pay. As a grown adult, I now find it harder paying bills, so saving money by making some of my own props is really cool. Plus I know that they'll last longer 'cause I made them myself. Cool! Glad I found this. I mentioned a false bottom casket in your last live. I am glad to find this alternative build. We used a refrigerator box, and scrap wood, for supports (1x2, 4x4, what we had on hand). And of coarse a false bottom and hole for a person' hand, underneath, with candy bowl inside. We did a candy bowl at entrance for the kids and no scare. Love this method!!!!!
@angelam25622 жыл бұрын
Excellent! I used this exact method to "reside" the front of my house about 5 years ago using about 10 of the 1 inch 4 x 8 boards; they piece together like a puzzle. Took me FOREVER to burn in the grain, but it was so worth it. We have since moved, and I had to cut it to fit our new house. It is easy to put up, store and holds up well. High impact prop!

Awesome job on the coffin Eduardo! The skit was great! Probably the best looking foam coffin I've seen! Thanks for always raising the bar and teaching the Prop Mob new tricks!
@TrueBrit14 жыл бұрын
That was very good. I made a pirate's treasure chest using the same technique with exactly the same Dow light blue 25/30mm foam over here (you can't buy that type of foam here now as it's no longer sold here, but occasionally some pops up on Ebay). Mine treasure chest turned out pretty good, BUT the difference with yours, and this is what makes it all the more realistic, is the effect you achieved with the wire brushes. I never thought of that and I so wish I had as it really does make a much better end product. But I'll remember that technique for the future. One tip though - when cutting the foam, you really don't need to use the hot wire knife or cutter - I use a simple snap-off extendable blade craft knife (the sort that extends by around 100mm) and fully extended, with a metal ruler I achieve an almost laser precision cut in just a few seconds - at least twice as quick as using the hot wire knife/cutter, and probably much quicker than that and a much better sharp cut (although I think for this particular project your way was better as you needed that straight, but not quite perfect edge to make it look more like wood). I used to use a hot wire cutter but for all straight cuts you cannot beat a snap off knife. Thanks for a great video.

Hat, gloves, suit, were great. The coffin is *amazing*, really looks like aged wood. Your attention to all the little details is the reason you are the Master Monster Maker!
