Montale Oud Tobacco Fragrance Review | Montale Oud Tobacco Perfume
My thoughts on Montale's latest Tobacco Fragrance, Oud Tobacco. This is not a dirty, burned, ashy tobacco experience. I'm picking up the leafy tobacco and it's an accord from Tonka Beans so not much Tobacco and Oud here but I get a grape-like berry-like syrupy fruity quality from Montale Oud Tobacco and most likely it's due to the Sumac note featured prominently here in Oud Tobacco. What does Sumac smell like? Sumac is reminiscent of the taste of lemon juice but not as tart. It's a sweet but sour taste with an initial punch that balances out after the initial taste. Sumac blends well with Cumin and other spices.

Hey Sebastian, Finally you reviewed it. I do agree with everything you said. When it first came out i was so excited that Montale had finally released a Tobacco fragrance. I immediately purchased it from france since it wasn't in the US yet. I was expecting for something like Red Tobacco from mancera but like you said, it's a very different kind of tobacco fragrance. It took me sometimes to finally blend into it and I got to admit that the smell is addictive. You easily fill up a room with it and you just smell different. I'm definitely glad to own a bottle. Thank you, Sebastian, for another great review on your channel!!! I do not have a clue how does sumac smell, even though I love Middle Eastern food, and was many times in Israel. Maybe I tried it but did not know that it was sumac) In the town where I was growing up we had only few nice stores that care good perfume, and Montale was the top of the top for everyone there. I loved to go there and put on myself Chocolate Greedy one and then many of my friends fell in love with this scent as well. The shop did not care a lot of scents, I think there was about 5 different perfumes or so) I like that this fragrance is a bit sweet and in the same time spicy!!! I love oud smell very much as well and I like that it is not an overwhelming oud scent in this perfume. I am as well happy that Tobacco is not too strong and not too dirty in this one as well!!! I’ve never experienced sumac before but find the description very intriguing. The color seems to pop of tart lemony cranberry possible smell. Also the description of the tobacco notes makes me almost imagine like a tobacco tea kind of smell .

I love the taste of sumac! Especially, on chicken! This perfume sounds very interesting, because I’ve heard it’s not ashy. I have several Montales. I like most of what I’ve smelled from them, but there’s a dna that I’ve overdosed on. I’ve taken a break from them.

@@phaedoncouniniotis2183 I would, but the bottle is a bit misleading. Not nearly as dark as you’d assume. It’s a beautiful rose and oud powerhouse. It can come off a bit medicinal at first, but I love what it settles down into. Spray with caution because this will be with you all day long.

I know this is an old video, but you're the first reviewer I've heard say that this is a presmoked tobacco. I agree 100%. To me I would say maybe tobacco leaf enzymes. I believe this is why SO many people claim that they detect no tobacco at all.

I don’t know about the usage of sumac in food industry, or the taste of it . But being in tailoring business I know it as top of the line dyeing and tanning agent with properties almost second to none. Only highest quality leather should be treated with sumac , also it’s not an easy process by any means. It’s such a strong dyeing agent , you should NEVER touch it with your hands.

Little known fact: The scent of Sumac comes not from its pretty red flower, but from the leaves of the plant which produce a light citrus scent. Blended well this fragrance could be interesting to the nose.
