I believe this poor guy soul was ruined when he said his mom tried to drown him. Then he got beat up until he was 14. Sadly what happens to us at our development stage has lasting server effects. My hope is that he gets to live a somewhat normal life at some point. I feel for this guy and his mom should have been put into prison for attempted murder. The onslaught against the poor started some years ago now - there will be no sickness, homelessness, unemployed, or even pensioners in poverty here in the UK, yes they will have eradicated it, and not by helping them...and a good number of the population don't care, as one popular person said: "show me the bodies, and I still don't care"! People like me are just waiting for the knock on the door now. Social Housing Providers selling homes from underneath you. Contracts for large 'homes' that will 'house' us, all making money for private companies. These people on this channel are me in 10 years, if not sooner. I wont live that long hopefully. Thank you for saying what you did. Some peoples comments are despicable under some videos about homelessness in this country, always blaming the person rather than understanding how circumstances along with government policies impact on homelessness. What a tragic story, John seems like such a lovely man, I can’t help but feel as though he’s been slighted in life. When he spoke of his mother nearly drowning him, only to be beaten by his grandpa, my heart just broke. I appreciate the introspection of the interviewer, for looking at his approach, and doing away with the “three wishes” bit. We all should examine our behaviors in order to improve upon our interactions. Thank you sir, these human beings are not invisible, and thanks to you we all have a better understanding.
@InvisiblePeople5 жыл бұрын
I am not doing away with asking the three wishes but I am going to be more sensitive that there are times when I should not ask that question. Out of almost a thousand interviews, this is a first. The people who have commented they didn't like it were responding out of their own lens. I am in contact with many of the people I interviewed on this channel. No homeless person has said anything but good. That said, what this interview with John has taught me is that are times when I should not ask the question. At the foundation of our work is a strong belief that no one will get hurt. For example, each homeless person retains the rights to their own videos. We do that because life changes. People change. It also gives them the power of choice. John is a lovely man. Most people probably just judge him at a distance without ever knowing the backstory.

Yes, I understand and we already do support our homelessness services but the fact is, this particular person is not getting the help he needs from those services...which he talked about in this video. I believe more in "stopping for the one" and since this is in our backyard, we definitely will try to locate John (Great Falls isn't a huge place...as far as population goes...and neither is most of Montana) and see if we can reach out to him and help him in any practical way. I don't really believe in "the system" because most of it is really broken. Down in Billings, the Rescue Mission is quite well-run but I have friends who have suffered greatly at other operations throughout the state that aren't as well-run. We will try our best to reach out. Hope you can get the power failure thing sorted...not sure what you're referring to but hope it gets sorted.

I can't even imagine how hard it must have been for John, he's one of the strongest out there. I love how you're giving these people voices, Mark. Based on your name, I was wondering, are you of Hungarian descent?

I pray for him. I’m from the area and I imagine it is nearly impossible to survive Montana because of the weather. I know a lot of homeless people die because of the long harsh winters. I hope there will be more solutions in the future.

Sending prayers for this man, that he can get the treatment he needs, mentally & physically , mental health in this country really needs to be addressed , this man should be in a treatment center not living on the streets , but unfortunately our society looks over them , it's easier than to deal with the problem . God bless you and hopefully will get the necessary help he truly needs .

The few glimpses that I saw of Johns eyes. Stopped me in my tracks. I saw through to his soul. Kind, gentle, and very forgiving man. “ An old soul “ as I always grew up hearing from my mother. I hope he’s ok now. And has received help.

This man seems like he has been dealing with this, homelessness AND 'alternates behind the glass', stoically, and being strong against them, but that it has slipped up on him recently. That's what I get from panic attacks; they seem to happen because we're overwhelmed, perhaps too overwhelmed, for too long, and our threshhold of resistance is down. He's been handling it, being strong against it, but it has been so wearing that his resistance got low, just like when your immunity is low and you get an infection. May he get a real, clear conviction in his heart of how much God cares about him, despite what the world does, and just how _wrong_ it is that he's been put through this, starting with all that happened to him as an innocent child. Despite all that, he's a decent man. I want to help, but I have little that I can do. May I start praying in earnest for other people, instead of just thinking about what a good thing it would be to pray. I just want to tell him to hang on.

I hope he is blessed with more fortunes than his past, I believe this man needs help financially. If I could get every homeless "human being" off the street that wanted to be I would. He is in my thoughts and prayers.
