In todays video I sent off two big ol agate chunkers to Don at Wide Open Lapidary in Glendive Montana so he could cut a few slabs for me with his rock saw since mine would not cut these beastly agates. Now Lets see if these big agates have any of the elusive iris hiding inside.

Nailed that Iris!! Some poor women are going to have sore necks with those iris pendants! 😂

They will be extra fancy with these as some necklace pendants 😂

Wow, those are gorgeous! The color in some of them makes me think of a stained glass window. Great photos!

They will be even more beautiful after a polish and the slabs are so big I could make a small window with them 😂

If you got agates with lots of banding inside you may be able to find some iris if you cut it thin enough.

It's my understanding that an air pocket causes the hole.I have several agates and a piece of petrified wood that have holes all the way through them. ❤

That's intriguing I'll have to look into it and see how the holes in the rocks happen when they form.

Wow😮!!! They are absolutely beautiful!!!! I love iris. Did you find them yourself? Because I live in Kalispell and I don't know where to go hunt for agates around here. 😊

I did find these myself on the Yellowstone River but I'm not sure about your area for agates and such.

@406findings I'm going to save for a small rock saw. I'm sure I'll figure out somewhere around here to find agates or even other stones. Thank you. Have a great day. Love your videos.

I heard that if there's a natural hole all the way through it. It's called a fairy stone and the other name it's called is a hag stone. You have a great eye 👁‍🗨 for agates! 😊

Hag stones are completely different... Mostly dried mud with weathered holes..

Yeah it's crazy how the hole went all the way through it and I do believe it would be considered a hag stone as well.
