Ah, a wonderful blast from the past. My wife gifted me a 144 (with the BP set) as my first "real" FP around 1990 -- and it still rotates into use. Honestly, it's a little small for my hand but it has such high sentimental value that it always gets gentle handling.

Thanks for sharing, nice to hear the pen is still being used. Keep enjoying it. 👍

Amazing job in cleaning the pen up. My Noblesse converter would probably fit this pen.
@penkino118 күн бұрын
It took some time but was worth it in the end. Is the Noblesse converter a standard MB converter ?
@rbf10017 күн бұрын
@@penkino1 Yes, it is standard.

Nice work, as ever. I had that same early model but with an oblique nib. Lovely pen and a fabulous nib, but I let it go as it was a bit small for my hand. Though I have good feelings about it as I sold it for a tidy profit!

Thanks i try my best. They are nice pens however i do prefer the larger pens personally.

That's a nice piece of work, Stef. Did you need to fill the teeth marks, or merely polish them away? The Melbourne Pen show was very well attended and, as usual, I spent more than expected: "Just one more pen won't hurt!" Cheerio.

Cheers Bruce, i try my best. It appeared to be some kind of glue (or something) that needed to be carefully removed which took some time. The show sounds interesting did anyone make a video ?

Another anomaly…!?! “Germany” inscription on MB would indicate LATER (ie from 1989/90 onwards: post German-unification. EARLIER (most of 1980s would have been inscribed “W. Germany” which still existed then and is where they were made/registered.

Yes it can be rather confusing. Maybe some of the parts were changed ? Thanks for the info.

Is the feed on this model made of Ebonite or plastic?
@penkino118 күн бұрын
I would say this feed is Ebonite. Thanks for watching.

Actually no. I never use any machinary on my pen restoration work. All the work is done laboriously by hand. Cheers

This is nice work - I have one - but I find it the most disappointing MontBlanc ever! The cap stops sealing properly and the overall quality is very poor. Many of my recent Chinese purchases - all less than $ 50 - are far superior.
@penkino115 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience with your pen. Unfortunatly i am not a fan of the Chinese pens, but you enjoy your pens.
