@RFDlic First time I heard him was in 1999 when I watched him on the Austin City Limits television program. I had just opened a beer before the show started. After the show was over, I was holding a warm beer in my hand and I said out loud to myself, "Wow. Well, this changes everything." I had been playing guitar for nearly 20 years at that time. I'm going to see him this Thursday and I can't wait to see him and talk to him.

Saw Monte at Sam's. we were all outside waiting for them to open the seating area. It was about 30/40 minutes before they would let us in, but we got a special treat as we waited. Monte started warming up inside with this song, Midnight Tango!!! It was an incredible experience .... one might call it fore play! He didn't play the song during the show. He was just limbering up his fingers and voice!!! He will be at Sam's again on Sept. 6th, 2024 !!!!!!

I will never understand why Monte is not mainstream.He sings,he plays a mean guitar, And he writes! Maybe he should come up with a cool name like Bob Dylan. @RFDlic His current management has really got him some good exposure in Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. He's got quite a following over there from what I understand. I'm lucky to get to see him 2 or 3 times a year since I started going to the shows. He's really a very nice guy. He always hangs out to talk to fans after the shows. He's never denied me an autograph or a photo. When he's not on stage, he's just a regular guy and I've always thought that was cool.

@RFDlic Sorry, but you misunderstood my comment. It's a given that Monte is "pro quality". I was refering to the quality of the video itself. I've been a member of the "Montiacs" for many years since I becam a fan in 1999. I have every album, all of them autographed in person and have seen Monte live 14 times (soon to be 15 - yay!). Monte is to me what Hendrix is to many people.

Why does everyone assume that the guy wants to be more famous. Did Daryl's House better than anyone save may be Todd Rundgren (in my opinion better.) Perhaps he likes where he lives and what he does? The songwriting ability seems to take a toll with fame.
