Only in Italy can a town be small enough to fit on a hilltop yet have five churches and one chapel. Bonus points for the Fiat Panda at 39:12. Simply amazing to see that even the smallest, unknown towns in Italy have something that really takes your breath away. You never hear about incredible stuff in East Bumblefuck, Idaho, you know? But here, in Montefalco, you get this amazing art in a small chapel. Wow. Reminds me of the Cappella degli Scrovegni in Padova. God, I miss this country and its people.
@StillWanderer2 жыл бұрын
Dear Hugo nice to see you again....ohh agreed on that panda, I still think a 4x4 version of the newer model is a little gem) still, never owned it before but always loved it. Montefalco is s stunning place Indeed... I was very very much impressed by the work of art in the st. Francis church...
@hugolafhugolaf2 жыл бұрын
@@StillWanderer Oh yes, the 4x4 version is cool as hell. If you ever go to Padova, the aforementioned Cappella is a must. To preserve the integrity of its frescoes, they put you in a temperature-controlled room until your body temperature and humidity reaches that of the inside of the chapel. In other words, no sweaty and hot tourists coming straight from the exterior. You are then allowed inside for something like 10 minutes tops, so that the air that you breathe can't affect the paintings. Flash photography is also strictly forbidden and they have a maximum of x visitors per day. They take this very seriously. I'm starting to sound like a tour guide for an actual italian... LOL!

Dear Riccardo I must say that this was such an amazing tour. I enjoyed it tremendously and was really excited when you took us along to see the Church of St. Francis, and the Museum with the beautiful paintings and artefacts. The Chapel of St. Girolamo and the stunning works of Benozzo Gozzoli was quite impressive. The cute and cuddly cat near the end was adorable. Really like viewing these incredible places that you visit.

Dear Lang, thank you so much, I say this with the greatest gratitude my dear friend. Today, when I was replying to you, I saw a little "icon" above your name, as a youtube creator I see now these and it says for how long we've been known each other... it says 11 months... incredible... almost 1 full year. Never met in real life but it's like we have in a way. The luck to live during these times I guess, where a video can connect people who have the same passions I believe... unthinkable jjust a few years ago. I loved Montefalco VERY much, it's one of my favourite ever towns I saw I must add... there was just something there which was truly captivating to not speak about the St.Francis' church of course and Gozzoli's art... just the alleys, the atmosphere.. something for sure. It happens from time to time in some towns and this is one of those for sure. Must be a fantastic life to live there I suppose

@@StillWanderer Wow I didn't even realize that we have known each other for almost a year. I believe the first video I came across from your channel was Barbarano Romano. I immediately was capivated by the enchanting, picturesque beauty of the town that I had to express my gratitude in a comment. You must know that as a child of 7 or 9, I became deeply fascinated and interested in places of Italy after seeing pictures of Etruscan artefacts, ruins and buildings of Pompeii, Herculeaneum and Rome. I first discovered these articles and pictures in an Encyclopedia about Italy in our home library. But of course through your channnel I've been learning about other interesting lesser-known places. Glad I subscribed to this channel and happy that we have become friends.

@@ACLang-hj9np dear Lang oh yes... Barbarano, remember it very well. Very pretty town. Indeed, a lot of time... A huge fan of Etruscan history as well here ) as you can see in fact... Most of my videos have been filmed mostly in their territory, north of Lazio and Umbria and South of Tuscany. LOVE that area very much and the Etruscan heritage. I would really like to thank you so much for the support given until today, I really wanted to stress on this Lang

Dear Geraldine, thank you and glad to see you again) indeed, I feel quite privileged whenever I can visit these places for sure, though I can't always film every weekend of course. But when I do I try to mix the travels somehow. Aha there in the museum I asked for its permission to the ladies and so they were ok with me filming but on the streets, sure many times I am stopped and asked. Some just don't care while others maybe wonder what "that guy is doing")) usually I make some friends this way, lots and lots of times I had to stop filming and we started chatting about the camera etc. A friend told me to start writing maybe some memories of the travels and put them in a blog or something... maybe... Wish you also s nice Sunday Geraldine 🤗
