So glad to see there are some spaces for lgbtq Jamaicans in Jamaica. Hoping the best for them and their continued acceptance 💜💜💜

And how has this phobia helped the upliftment, education advancement, and economic progress of Jamaicans. People must be able to live their lives fairly and without fear.

Wonderful. Freedom from any oppression is always fought for so when it is won there is inherent respect from the oppressors to the victors. 👍🏾

Yep, its a sobering truth, you gotta take your freedom in this world most times

Right On! Justice is the exponent of power. Believing it will somehow be magnanimously bestowed upon us, without requiring our active offensive and defensive battle engagement, is a pollyanna fantasy. For many of us, the battle still begins on our homefront. This is challenging, however if we are not respected, supported, and accepted, we are not being loved for who we really are. The steps to educate with plans to extricate ourselves from oppressive toxic family/relic religious influences, becomes imperative for our mental and physical health survival. Not easy but definitely worth it. ✊🏾Happy 🏳️🌈 Pride 🇯🇲 Jamaica✊🏾

I'm from the U.S.A. born and raised and yes, we all know my home country isn't nowhere near perfect and I have traveled all over the world, but Jamaica has never been on my radar for political reasons even before I got wind of how they treat gays. I would have to see more changes before I take that leap as an openly gay man traveling there. So, I can't financially support the country unless I see the fight is getting realer for LGBTQIA+ rights and then I'll support the country.

I totally understand, my family is from there and I still get nervous about visiting now that I'm out. And I know many gay people who had to leave. But id be lying if I said I haven't seen a shift, I've seen so many gay COUPLES vacationing there and looking cozy, even I'm shocked at the changes in recent years

This is refreshing to hear about. Unfortunately, still risky and unsafe in many cases to participate on the ground from what I can see, however. I hope for more progress but it will be difficult. Appreviate the memtion of rhe organization, supporting them behind the screen is hopefully also helpful to progress

I was about to say that everyone I've met says that there ARE no gay people in Jamaica (which we know NOT to be true) still it is encouraging to see that not EVERYONE has to leave the island before they can come out ...

Oh please, people who say that want to live in delusion so they don't have to challenge Jamaicas homophobic attitudes, it's an excuse to not change. And yes it is nice some people can stay and make a difference

Trust me, Jamaica is the epitome of " He that doth protest too much"...lol
