Do shrimp have the power to stop an autistic meltdown? Yes. What research do I have to show? Well I am the only person I studied so it’s a bit skewed and more research is needed but this is the second time in my life I’ve been overwhelmed by everything and on the brink of a full on meltdown and through tears I type “shrimplicity” into the search bar and as I watch my fav babies squabble/kindly take turns over the most perfect rock, all of the overwhelm goes away. What a powerful advertisement and promotion of the aquarium... it's like the perfect KZbin channel, statistically... providing free, useful, and entertaining content that's linked to their paid aspect which is also super f'n worthy of and worth (both) the money! Years ago our family attended one of the sleepover events. We set up in the Open Sea room, watching the creatures glide by while the room slowly fell asleep. I worked graveyard shift back then, so at 2am I got up, put on my headphones with some quiet Sigur Ros, and ghosted around the aquarium, watching the exhibits that were still visible and enjoying one of my favorite nights ever.

Oh you lucky dog! As a child the Monterey Bay aquarium was my absolute favorite place to be. Ill never forget all the field trips we took there, getting behind the scenes look when i was in a summer camp. I still remember our chaperone and it was a good 25 years ago. I love Krill Waves Radio. I found this channel at just the right time. These chill shrimp helped me get through the final stages of my PhD: all the stress of finishing a dissertation, preparing for my defense, and working through a post-doc. Now, a year and a half later, these chill shrimp are helping me as I prepare for classes at my job as a professor. Next year, I plan to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium for the first time. I hope I can thank the shrimp in person for all they've done for me. :)

One of my fondest memories was going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium as a child. It was a life-changing trip with my dad and brother that helped to propel me into a lifetime career with science. Oh I LOVE this. My favorite saltwater shrimp are the “sexy dancer” anemone shrimp. If there were videos that went on for hours of watching them do their thing, I would watch that in a heartbeat too. Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of the best things on the internet. Thank you so much for everything you do. I went to my local aquarium a year ago and I saw the shrmp exhibit during feeding time. It inspired me to learn more about them and I was astounded at how fundamental they are for ocean life. I ended up getting a small tank of my own, and I'm prepping it for a group of cherry shrimp.
