Gracias por este video.👍🏼 Lindo lugar. Ese gato que ternura. No sabía lo del aluvión, que tragedia. Que bueno que ya arreglaron todo.

Very nice vid. Helpful for our coming trip in September. Thanks for creating this plan for all of us Cinque Terre novices. What a change of pace from Milano, Firenze, Roma and Venezia! We look forward to the calm of these small towns, despite throngs of tourists.

Looking forward to a vacation there so I have watched a few other videos about Cinque Terre, but I like yours due to your useful and cheery narrative. I also liked how you pay attention to simple things like a cat drinking from a leaky faucet. These little details are as nice as the view of the village itself. Thanks.

fantastic little seaside villages...but would have a problem climbing up all those stairs and even harder going back down....

Thank you for this lovely video ! I was in Cinque Terre in 2008; and we walked between the hamlets. Wonderful place ! Now I am going once more , in the beginning of June. It was good to see your films and get some good ideas about the trip, so I guess we`ll watch it several times. I am Norwegian, living in Norway, so I don`t need to travel as far as you did 😊

Mr. Callan thank you for your interesting and very useful video. With this I was able to identify a photo I saw on Bing as Vernazza not La Spezia as originally labelled. I will be watching more and maybe I'll find other places to learn about

Great video and tips, thank you. We are visiting Genoa on a cruise soon and plan to take the train from Genoa. Which train station should I take and get off? Do they have English speaking staff to help with ticket purchase? Thank you again!!!

You can take a direct train to Monterosso

Which month was this video made? We are planning our trip for mid May next year and was wondering about the weather? Was your trip also in May?
@denniscallan5 жыл бұрын
I was there in early October. Mid-May should be an excellent time to go, ideal weather, less crowded than summer, better hotel availability, and the boats should all be operating.

We are going to be there the last week of March 2019 I’m looking at how people are dressed. Wondered what time of the year the video was made. Any advice on clothing for that time of year.
@denniscallan5 жыл бұрын
Late March might be cold, and boats probably not running -- better to go in May or September, early October.

Really enjoyed your vlog on cinque Terre. Where would one stay to visit all the towns in 3 or 4 days?

Riomaggiore is the biggest of five with a good assortment of small hotels. Here's what Lonely Planet suggests for accommodations: great options include ultra-stylish but authentic La Mala in Vernazza, charming beachfront Hotel La Spiaggia in Monterosso, recently refurbished Hotel Marina Piccola or super-cheap Ostello 5 Terre, both in Manarola. And if you’re looking for somewhere special, La Torretta Charme & Relax has extraordinary views, 5-star service and luxurious, lavishly decorated rooms. If you do decide to day-trip, big but easy-going La Spezia is far closer than Genoa or Pisa, with just a seven-minute ‘commute’ to the closest village, Riomaggiore, and around 15-25 minutes to the furthest, Monterosso. Returning at night to La Spezia’s lively bars and cheap and plentiful plates of focaccia, pesto pasta and seafood is far from a chore.

Nice overview! Mahalo! BTW, I think it's worth mentioning that it's now advisable to check the cruise ship schedule for when they port there for the day. We were almost trampled on the train by hordes of cruise ship passengers all trying to squeeze on the train! One of the worst travel experiences ever!

Oh yeah. We are cat lovers and can't wait to meet these furry little geniuses, who are really top-line predators and will survive way past humans, probably. That's why the Egyptians thought their ancestors were reincarnated as cats, I guess. Survivors!
