Mexico its a mosaic of cultures and traditions you have to take that into account to understand the country, there s a saying that goes "como mexico no hay dos" there is only one museum in mexico ; the country itself , every state and region have their own folklore , architecture, music , food , slang etc. Thats why u r never bored in mexico everywhere you go you will find something differen. That s why we cannot say which state its better, cause each state is diferent.

Monterrey is an underrated city. And yes people in the north are more reserved and we are a bit colder than the people in the s¿centre and south but that dosent mean we arent freindly. Culturewise there are mores similarities to Texas than the rest of Mexico and thats mainly due to geography. Texas is just 2 hours away meanwhile Mexico City is almost 12 hours by car or bus.

@@javiermbadm4995 Same here, one thing I love about it here is that we're far away enough from all the drug war related violence and madness from the south, here it's not the same anymore, ever since the zetas were rooted out of this city, what's left of them only causes minor panic and fear among the people, both the military and the local authorities are doing a good job in keeping the peace here, which they have to! As this big city is an important hub for commerce, business and industry, this is a big blessing.........I'm not afraid of spending a couple nights, alone, in any local mountain here, from villa de santiago area to Bustamante, I've gone camping, aaall by myself and had never felt in danger.....I love monterrey! he he :D

There's a lot of videos out there that just show the typical touristy parts of the city. There's a few that get out of the way into various neighborhoods and local eating places. Then there's this where you tresspass at the break of dawn and crawl through a drain pipe to climb a secret trail to a majestic view few have experienced. That's true travel and not bullshit, respect!

It is true people in the north are more reserved but ones you get to know them they are very friendly, also they are very direct if they don't like something they will tell it to your face and that is something that makes some people in the center or south think that they are rude. But that is just the way it is in the north and about people in the north being snobs, the truth is that there is more opportunity for people to get material things because is not as expensive as in center or south, because it's so close to the States so is easier and less expensive to get technologies or cars or clothes and it's more common to see people in the streets using them and in the north it seems normal, because a lot of people are able to get those things, but from what I heard the people in the center or south that are able to have them are economically stable and in the north almost anyone is able to get those things without being consider like middle or high class. And because the people the people over there that have those things are consider middle class or high class (or snobs) they think in the north is the same but is not.

The northern states of Mexico do tend to be much more conservative than the southern states. This is partially due to these states histories. The northern states were full of small nomadic tribes that often warred with each other and didn't really trust each other, as opposed to the more cohesive civilizations of the south. And after Spanish colonization and Mexican independence the cities founded in the north were isolated and at the mercy of raiders, bandits and foreign filibusters. In top of that they were often ignored by the central government. So this created a sense of mistrust towards strangers and towards the government, but also created a strong spirit of independence and self reliance as a common trait among northerners, and its probably most exemplified by the people of Nuevo León.

In Nuevo León’s case, it was founded by Sephardic Jews (that’s why the flour tortilla, the lamb, most houses have a granada and orange tree for tradition, the word Huerco, meaning brat or kid, it’s Ladine for little devil, the distribution between the urban cities make a Star of David). The Jews that came to the NorthEast of Mexico did have an initial problem with the raiders and bandits, but got Togheter with the native Borrados.

I think its great that you did your research and came to Monterrey prepared to hike! And also you visited different mountains and places. Other youtubers with channels similar to yours came precovid and they were all just going downtown and then they couldnt move around anywhere else, so they ended up disappointed. In Monterrey many things to visit are not near from each other so you need to be aware of the distances, and preferently drive... also in my opinion you definitely need to go hiking here at least once. I mean, the city is called "city of mountains" for a reason...

Great view of Monterrey NL. My wife is from the outskirts of Monterrey called Villa De Santiago area. There, you can visit Santiago Pueblo Majico, Cola De Caballo (Horsetail Falls), Los Cavazos (shopping/restaurants/pottery/etc), La Presa La Boca. A little further down towards Allende NL, you can also visit Parque Estrella which has a Serengeti, outside activities. You'll also probably find friendlier people. Lol. Enjoy. PS. Love your channel.
