Great build. Turned out great. I watched this video because.... well I enjoy your builds. But also because I have a 15 month old grandson and this is the kind of bed my daughter wants for him. She also wants to help with the build. So personally.... I would want a set of build plans. I've created my own sets of plans before from watching a video... but I much prefer to have a set and just build instead of have to come up with everything. So my answer is YES you should make plans. LOL

How do you suggest to build with out using planer ?

You could substitute all the frame pieces for regular 2x4s and 2x6s (or get pre-surfaced lumber). Using a planer makes everything 'nicer', but its not completely necessary.
