Montgomery Alabama Most Run Down Hoods

These inner city neighborhoods are in abandonment and disrepair with massive percentage of homes vacant as people are fleeing this once prosperous city. One could imagine in it's day these areas were decent places to live but today only a few homes hold on to that former prosperity. These places are not even "scary" or raise a concern for safety since, practically.. there is almost no one out and about. The few homes livable are in bad shape and falling apart as junk piles suggest. It's like a Detroit in the making.

I’m born and raised in FL, but A lot of my ancestors and old relatives come from Southern Alabama and this area around Montgomery (Lowndes County etc)..I love it, so much history. A lot of these people never really left.

Jose, I would say you are not in Naples anymore. You can see, at one time, those were nice homes in a nice neighborhood. One has to ask, what happened? why? Where did the people move to? Why?

people have been fleeing inner city for some time now. They built suburbs and that is where everyone went. At one time they were nice areas but as crime increased and the good people left.. places go UP and they go DOWN as well.

Many of those homes and property are very nice but in disrepair.Sometimes working people age and then can't work and repair their properties any more.There should be more wide spread programs to help people take care of their homes.It costs so much just for one project..

Most of the house in the beginning are empty. I lived on the street for almost a year

Westside ( Southlawn area) where I'm from. There alot more run down houses than than that in the city. Last I visit they tore down at least 10 notorious projects. Those homes have lots of potential plenty of yard space.. I stay in Indianapolis, the hoods here is different less yards but hugh two story with basement homes. They fixing alot of areas up here tho. Looking at your vids make me home sick. Lol

@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS I agree. They need more go getters. Most cities have metro suburbs that surrounds the city. Montgomery metro is Prattville Millbrook, and Pike which is East and North that is sad. Millbrook and Prattville is separated by a river which dont benefit in stretching out the city. They need more growth outside of west and south so it can bring more businesses. They also need better city planners. Im sure one day they think bigger and better. It has gotten a lot better from the time I lived there.

I like this area, its the backwards woods people that mess it up cuz the people in the hood aint really ll that bad here. I am more scared of police than thugs out here
