Montgomery Hydraulic Elevator @ Dillard's - Desert Sky Mall - Phoenix, AZ

(5-31-21) While driving through AZ, we had to stop to see at least one elevator. This is a vintage Montgomery elevator in the Desert Sky Mall Dillard's. We were kind of lucky with this one because the second floor is closed off, but the restrooms are up there, so the elevator is the way to go to them.

I loved this elevator. I took a few joy rides after filming my take. When I was here, I realized that if you hold the LL button prior to the doors opening the doors will open an inch or two and then immediately close.

That store downsized to a clearance center. Dillard’s is not doing so well with their pre-2000 locations. Their most successful locations are built post-2000.

I still see a few around. I did hate when the elevators at the VA Hospital down here got modernized with Innovation brusier because it had the square G&P buttons but a cool floor indicator

Arizona has a larger surplus of Montgomery Vectors as opposed to G&P, some of which I have filmed already, and some of said have been closed off, or modded.

I've only seen one of these and it broke down last year. In fact, I think it's STILL broken considering the hotel it's at doesn't maintain their elevators.
