Montgomery (now Kone) Traction Elevators at the Driskill Hotel with JimLiElevators

Riding the very nice elevators at the Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas with JimLiElevators, and although the cabs are nice, they are not as nice as the original ones. And while the fixtures are nice with the Prestige buttons and green/red lanterns, they could have done a lot better with either Otis, ThyssenKrupp, or an independent company, keeping the original cab, and using CJ Anderson fixtures.

I just filmed an un-modded Montgomery G&P elevator just today. However, it is at the JCPenny Store at SouthPark Mall in Moline, IL. Almost every modded Montgomery I've been on was by KONE, except a couple that were done by Otis and by Schumacher.

Interesting, since Moline was the headquarters for Montgomery Elevator (now Kone US), and even though it's sad that Kone does a lot of the work in that city, that somehow makes sense, since they're headquartered there, as well as the ones who acquired Montgomery Elevators.

I think the mechanical indicator on the outside is actually designed to work digitally

The main elevators that serve all 12 floors have been modernized by KONE with Innovation Prestige.

Exactly. I visited this hotel last December to see their big Christmas Tree, and noticed the main elevators were undergoing modernization. Also, are they still open, or are they now key-carded?

@@CenTexElevators489 I don’t know. I just saw it in a video and haven’t been in person. I do plan to go in person though to see the new elevators. Has the other lobby elevator been modernized as well?

@@CenTexElevators489 That sucks. I did notice that in the new main elevators they had a white KSS 570 indicator as opposed to the usual Series 220 one like the one on the lobby elevator that was modernized a while back.
