Moroccan here, and honestly, if you've made the decision to move in here for good, you should definitely consider buying a car. 900$ a month is way too pricey, I'm not sure how banks here deal with foreigners, but if your credit score is good, you can get a loan with 0% interest (you have to pay a certain amount in advance), but the monthly cost will come down to a third of what you're paying or even less.

Thank you for making these videos, soooo helpful! I live in California now but I am planning to move to Morocco InshaAllah very soon. It was helpful to know that it will be more expensive in July and August. Also I would love to see more details on how you bought a home there. Was there a lot of Red Tape???🙂↕️ Also, I would be working remote from America as well. Are you able to keep up with thr time Zone differences? Also, lol so sorry for all these questions, 😅 but how easy was it to open a bank account with Bank of Africa if you dont have Moroccan ID. Did it need to be a business account??? How would you get money out of your bank in America to buy a home, without a lot of Red Tape? I would prefer to buy as well something affordable as well instead of renting But i am not sure if they allow a paymenr plan for an American, like a down payment then another 2 or 3 payments? If you dont mind i can email you as well. My name is Salimah

I've been living here in Morocco since January 1991. Accommodation: I have always rented. If you rent a newish apartment, the rent will be high; you are paying the bank credit/mortgage of the owner, and if furnished, even more expensive. Rent is less if unfurnished and within an older property; the owner normally has no debts. 600 dhs a month electricity bill? I've never paid more than 150 dhs a month for both water and electricty. Maybe the renter should ask to see the actual bill. Living in an apartment complex; there is the regular payment to the syndicate - for security, swimming pool and general maintenance. I live in a small house, not a complex, so no such expense. I decided long ago never to buy a brand new car - I dislike credit arrangements. I've had the same second-hand diesel car for years; the occasional maintenance and replacement of parts , not expensive. I rarely eat outside of home; been caught short because some eateries served up non-fresh food. I love living in Morocco, more than any other country I have visited or lived in.

The fact that you said eat a few days a week healthy and a few days a week at home makes me understand you’ve totally got your wires crossed with eating food hahaha Eating out is majority unhealthy and eating at home a cooked meal is always healthy unless you eat junk. I have never heard anyone say I eat out to stay healthy as that’s insane 😂 When you eat out they cook with cheap oil, cheap salt, cheaper ingredients than at home where you source the best of everything. What it costs me to eat out one meal in sydney Australia I can eat for over a week at home with healthy meals. I’m guessing this is the youth today…
