Pertex quantum is super tough, they use it for mountineering jackets, its next level, super lightweight, ripstop material. Please research it first before saying its fragile, it's anything but.

You can get fully waterproof down jackets. Check out Arc'tryx and Rab. They both do fully waterproof 800 fill goose down jackets 👍

Rick Murdoch yes, def rate arc'teryx. prefer synthetic insulation (e.g. primaloft, coreloft) when combined w/ waterproof membrane outer. plus it's less bulky vs goose/feather-based. check out veilance line fr arc'teryx + norse projects as well...
