When I hear German all of the sudden, not expecting it, I automatically get an impression like someone was either insulting me; shouting at me, having some problem with me, discussing how to kill me.. And I instictively reach for my gun or other weapon which I don't carry on me. I can't help it. I don't know why they speak German in presence of non German speaking person. It would piss me off. Vienna was nice but I just couldn't stand hearing German and I left. I was in France 5 times. Everytime I'd omit Germany and go through the south.. Jesus.. come to think of it, I can't stand the sound of German even on gas stations, so I passed bits if Austria without stopping, preferring to buy gas in other countries on my way.
